Hi everyone,

I am little stressed out, hopefully there is no need to be. I got my PPR on June 26 (Inland applicant). I moved to India on June 21 and sent CIC an update regarding that. After getting the PPR I sent them an email to finalize my PPR at the New Delhi visa office - which they allowed confirming it via email on July 3. I sent my passport along with the photos, my pp, the email and bio-data form on July 6. The tracker states it's still under process. My concern is although my ecas says "a decision has been made", my cic still says A decision has not been started. Can this mean there can be a rejection? I hope I am just being paranoid. Can anyone give me their 2 cents on what this could mean?

Thank you,
A
Hi, don't worry, if the ECAS states decision has been made, eventually it will be reflected elsewhere. You will get your PR soon. All the best.

The answers received on this forum depend on the quality of information provided in the question.

I was responding to your post where you specifically said "Entire Period is overlapping with full time MBA studies".

With the explanation you have provided now, it is clear that you can claim it as full-time work experience.

Also, your MBA wasn't full-time. It was part-time with classes on weekends. A full-time course requires attending fixed hours of academic sessions over a specified period in time. Which is precisely why your work experience can be full-time. You can't claim 2 full-time activities simultaneously. If you're claiming multiple simultaneous activities, either one or all of them have to necessarily be part-time.

All the best!
Thanks for your reply. My MBA was indeed a 2 year full time program, as specified by my University. Hours were made up by students during weekends and online. Part-time MBA was for 3 years in my University. In any case, my ECA report gives me Master's Degree equivalency.

So now the only thing i need to debate is to whether to take the risk of adding those 10.5 months to my profile giving me 25 extra points.

Thank you for your valuable inputs. Appreciated.

I've received my ITA and have started filling the application.

When filling the addresses on the online form, I don't see any line to put the ZIP code. One does not appear when I put my country either, so where are we supposed to fill it in?
Is a ZIP code line supposed to appear or should I use the second street name box?

Hi Asivad,

I desperately need your help. I think quite a lot of people have the same doubt, but so far I couldn't find any logical answer.
As you know, when filling the express entry profile, there is a question which asks do you have a "job offer"?
Then there are two questions
1. Was a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued for the job offer in Canada?

2. Was a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued for the current work permit?

According to an entry in CIC help centre, if your job offer is not supported by LMIA, then you have to answer NO. My question is that then why they later explicitly ask if you have an LMIA for that job. If they meant only LMIA supported jobs, they didn't need to ask the following questions about LMIA.

All these look very contradictory. I am working with an LMIA exempt WP and received my ITA under FSW. Now I don't know what to do? Specially showing that I have a job offer is important for me, because I don't have that 12,000CAD for POF, so showing I have a job offer will help.

I appreciate if you share your opinion. This thing really make me anxious.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I just got the ITA yesterday. But i noticed i made a mistake in my EE profile in the work history section. Instead of 2015 i entered 2014. However, i did not claim any points for this work experience. So i am a little scared and confused on whether to go ahead and make changes in the online application or declining the invite and making a new profile?

Thanks

That is similar to one of my problems as well. What should I do?

If you claimed no points for it and weren't awarded any points for it 'accidentally' by the system, feel free to edit it and move on with the application.

If you are legally working in Canada, that will help you deal with the POF question. In addition to the monies in the bank, you can show supporting documents including work authorization, job offer with salary details, pay stubs, salary credit statements, tax assessment forms etc to validate that you are able to financially support yourself and your family in Canada.

As for the questions, they are irrelevant to the situation if you did not get those 600 extra points and got your ITA based on your CRS.

hi Guys ,

I got an ITA yesterday with 455 points out of which 35 points was awarded for 1 years experience in Canada. Now when i view the message of invitation it says
"Based on the information you provided us in your Express Entry profile, we are pleased to invite you to apply for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)" but it also shows below 35 points for CRS – Human Capital – Canadian Work Experience - 35

So a little confused , whether i would get this 35 points when i actually submit the application ? or it should have said under CEC class ?

Second question is - currently i am working in Canada since past 1 year 3 months . however my company is transferring me to US around 10 th Aug . I have medical scheduled on 22nd july which is the last document as per my research ( i have collected and ready with all other docs). so i should be able to submit before going to US until and unless i get a surprise when i get the checklist. What should be my course of action. should i submit the application with US current residence or with Canada residence giving address of my friend. ? Any suggestion ?

If you're eligible for both FSW and CEC, the system automatically extends an invitation under FSW.

Submit your application with the truthful address at that point in time. You can send in new information to CIC at a later date after actually moving to the US.

If you answer 2 and your husband's kids from the previous marriage are still dependent, that would be a misrepresentation which might get you derailed in the process.

If you answer 4, that will be the right thing to do but it will also involve your husband to arrange for medicals to be necessarily done for both those kids and also get a consent letter from his ex-wife about migrating to Canada without the kids or a court order as evidence that the ex-wife has full custody of the kids.

As this is a complex issue, recommend you hire a lawyer in addition to asking for advise from the forum. There are many applicants who have suffered delays and cancellations in cases where ex-spouses and kids from previous marriages are involved and each of those cases will be unique in themselves.
Hi Asivad,

Thank you for the quick response!
We do have Letter from my husband ex-spouse that she received money from my husband to support kids for all time that they are dependent and she doesn't have any claims for him. This Letter confirmed by Notarius so we just need to translate it.
I put these kids to my application, but I'm not sure what I need to answer to how many family members I have. Are they my family members? I even haven't seen them. After marriage we immigrated to Israel and now we are in Canada. If I will say that they are my family I also need POF for them?
Please help. Can't get my personal checklist ... still on these eligible questions:(

Answer those questions as best as you can and then you'll get the checklist. You can always come back and change your answers as well.

You might not need POF for them because they can be treated as 'non accompanying' dependents but I don't imagine that they can be left out completely from the application. You will still have to get their medicals done though. And submit the required documents to satisfy CIC about the children being completely entrusted with your husband's ex-wife.

In fact, there is a possible scenario but that will involve you 'deliberately' lying on your application about your husband's past marital status. CIC might not be able to track that down at all and you could still go through the process pretty much hassle-free but that's your personal choice and I don't recommend being untruthful in your application.

As I said earlier, such cases are usually more complex than they appear on the surface. I would recommend an early meeting with a good immigration lawyer.

All the best!

Hi Asivad Anac,

I have a query, I received my ITA @ 455. For medicals do I need to schedule an appointment on my own or will I receive a separate notification from CIC asking me to go for medical examination? Thanks in advance.

You'll have to get it done upfront. CIC doesn't send any notification for medicals under EE. Preferably get it done at a hospital which runs eMedical.
