Hello, are there any programs that don't require a job offer in Canada besides Alberta? I am not yet to be one year on my h1b, and I am afraid the program will be gone ........ please advice.

Both are equally long for you now. Its upto you to decide...

1) Apply for FSW program which takes about 2 year for complete process - this you can start right away if you have all required things in place particulary NOC.

or

2) Wait for until Oct 2009 and then apply AINP... But, never know what changes might happen by then...

Leon - by "skilled worker", do you mean the FSW program where one can directly apply with the CIC, based on the 67 qualifying points system? I guess that is the only way without a job offer other than AINP, correct?

I am putting together the application to Alberta under AINP since I will be in US on H1B visa starting March, 09. I actually worked in US before as an electrical engineer until May, 08 (the end of my 6th year H1B). I then went back to Malaysia. Since my PERM has been pending for more than 1 year, I am able to get the H1 Extension, starting March, 09. I plan to submit my AINP upon arriving US. In this case, would I be qualified for AINP since I used to work in US for more than 1 year? Also, do I need to submit the reference letters from all my employers and the paystubs when submitting the AINP application? Can I submit the reference letters and paystubs later on? Pls help. Thank you very much.

I know very little French. I am afraid they interview me and ask me about French, then I got nothing..

If you need points for a FSW application, one way is to study French to the point that you could pass some kind of test to a basic skill level. If it's easy for you to learn languages, it might be a good way to get more points but still, you should take some kind of intensive course, not just dabble in it yourself.

The only ways to immigrate without a job offer is FSW if you are on the 38 list, AINP if you are on a H1B visa for a year or QSW if you speak french.

For Hong12, when you apply for AINP, you start by sending a 1 page form for them to decide if you qualify. Then they will tell you what other documents to send. Are you married? if not, find a US Citizen and your fear will turn into courage and enthusiasm. It's only rights which make a immigrant fearful once you have K1 stamp in your Passport you don't care Alberta or US economy
