Any one under '0213' got approval or rejection with non IT degree

Hello Frens,
There are lots of '0213' members whos case is either with CIC or CHC ( including mine), I am starting this thread to keep track of approval / rejection under
'0213' with non-IT degree ??

I have 11+yrs exp and 4 yrs as PM but I am from non IT(Computer Science) engg degree with IT and PM certification, so not sure if non-IT degress for '0213' will be one of the criteria... for rejction.

Share whenever you guys have any input.. I wish success for each member here.

I am Commerce graduate , I applied in Under NOC 0213 and I have 11years IT Experience with Diploma in computer science from India, Diploma from some Indian Institutes NIIT , LCC, Aptech. MCSE ,MCSA, MCSA: messaging. and my job responsability, main duties as per NOC 0213 I have total about 7years experience outof 11years.

My appl reached CIC Buffalo on 21st July 09, got AOR on 27th July and then after no news.... Hoping to hear something by july this year

Interesting for omm

There has been some cases of rejection of NOC 0213- Non IT Degrees but huge experience. I saw this in this forum. Just cant remember which thread. am sure some other 0213 NOC guys have also seen that.
Looking forward so that omm gets away with his huge experience in this field.

Recieved AOR today morning January 25, 2010. dont cross your finger more. think be positive for members.
Remember I repeat again for you Jnathan, NOC details title if not matched but if your experience is matched with any NOC upto min 1year, that your chances will there, I am NON IT degree holders, but I have some good certifications, Diploma, and 8years experience under NOC Details Role and duties , yes title not matched but the duties mentioned in NOC 0213 is matched.
I told you before I am not applying with any cheaper roadside open shop lawyer, I shwo my case and applied by them who have good value and they cleared thousand of Canada FSW Immigration case.

i have MBA finance and i have one year experience as Tax analyst..i also have 4 yrs of expirence as technical sales specialist...just want somebody to confirm if all of this experience would be considered "relevant" to my degree and i would get maximum marks for experience....

Not IT degree holders did get rejection in some cases. However, decision in such cases greatly depend on individual Immigrtion officer in CIO and CHCs. They have reduced many to now only 38 NOCs. this is to reduce applicants, not to facilitate more. I hope experienced members could remember who got rejected for having non IT degree but 11 yrs of IT experience. He was really sad. I am trying if I could find that thread.

I am not saying everyone with non IT degrees would be rejected. All depends on dealing IO.

Janathan, if you ask any immigration lawyer expert or read CIC Website or FSW immigration related text search in google, there are nothing written about non IT degree, if you have any Degree , certifications you are mentioning in the forms, even showing all experience letters, my one friend he is non IT DEGREE holder, CIO have question and they called his companies, officer ask for his all degree, certifications details, he provided it correctly and he get AOR and now he get medical too, remember its doesnt matter about non IT degree holder they matched experience which is under 38 noc code duties.

good to see reply from 'omm', I wish having IT degree should not be mandatory and they should look in detail abt exp (NOC 0213), other credentials

I agree with 'omm' here that exp should play big role ... but one we can not be sure how the VO/IO looks into

Still no news on Jan-09 or Feb 09 apps from buffalo ??

Hello everyone,

Today I have received the refusal mail from cic for which I applied on Nov, 2009. I do have the same problem i.e. having IT experience for 5+ yrs but no IT / business degree. Though they mentioned that my duties do not match with the expected criteria for 0213 but I think degree is the main issue here.

This is sad. you are the second victim in such cases as now seen by me in this forum.
Could you please post your Job duties and also the rejection later for others to learn?
Are you planning to apply again? Did you submit any professional certification like from ORACLE, MS ?

In your case, it looks exp may not be sufficient ? IT 5yrs+ exp may not be able to satisfy IO/VO ?

and may be both less exp and non-IT degree may result in ur rejection...

We like to see (approval or rejection) who has atleast 10+yrs exp with non-IT degree

In USA or may be in Canada, you just can't become PM with 5yrs exp until you have strong management degree, i know people with 15yrs+ becoming PM

In my country India.... there are few companies where if you are 5yrs exp you will be elevated for PM role.. may not be the designation which may not be wrong, but things are diff here in this part of world

I am not trying to hurt any one here, but just try to understand the pattern of apporval and rejection under 0213

ohh very sad to heared rejection.
I worked 2years as Technical assistant, I am B.com, subsidory subject computer science, diploma in computer from Govt and 3 diplomas from private NIIT Aptech LCC india.
my first job role in NIIT as technical assistant upto 2years after that I worked as systems network manager in NIIT for 4years and 6months (job duties under noc 0213 matched).
second job is in europe for 4years as computer and networks systems manager (under noc 0213 matched job duties).
third job now in the USA since 2years as computer network and systems administrator (half of NOC 0213 job duties matched).

some certifications MCSE MCSA , MCSA in another subject certifications.

thats my history. but I am graduate is NON IT. but selected and received AOR.
