To get it from the horse's mouth, I emailed Sydney, Australia re the 15 months. Here is the answer:

Dear Sir,

No, it is incorrect. At the moment, the processing time is approximatively 6 to 12 months depending on you to send us the requested documents quickly after we send you a letter.

Sincerely

Immigration Section | Section de l'immigration

Thank you for the information.

I also had doubts about that the processing time given before. It is recommended for people when the have a reply from CIC Office, to put the message exactly as it has been received in your email.

Thnx Mike for the update on the processing time at Sydney CHC. In fact on CIC website its given as % (80% by 9 months).... However apparently given the responses/time line from the forum members (Applicant's of Sydney CHC) it seems the processing time is a bit slower than it says (May be most of us fall in the rest 20%!!)...To examplify... I am running over 12 months since being "In process" and over 15 months since second AOR..Adamdavid probably being in same stage....Sukh has been waiting like 7 months to get his file to turn In process from RBVO...Victoria M and Dasalcedo also might have waited nearly a year for their visa and PPR I suppose... Well all we can conclude that may be we (Sydney CHC applicant and member of this forum) are not representing the actual processing time..... If you frequently visit this thread you will probably notice that not too many updates available in last couple of months (after V gets visa).....Wish all we have some reason to cheer soon.......

Hi Fariza,

That's right- I did medicals around the same time as you, and still waiting for any update; its been almost 8 months since my 2AOR!

Thanx Sukh. It clarifies... but just wondering why does CHC, Sydney replied differently on processing time?

I sent two emails to inquire my statues, but no response from Sydney CIC , Why?

Don't worry. They sometimes do silence...... as also shared by other members here.... Which however the reason I usually don't think of sending CSE even after the delays I experienced in every step of my processing so far...

Hey Guys

I know this forum is not to ask this type of questions but B'coz u people are in australia and can better explain the conditions.

Due to unnecessary delay in Canadian PR now many people are making their mind to apply for other countries like australia.so what do u think Is Australia better place than Canada if We compare medical, education, safety, employment etc.

Can anybody apply for PR of 2 countries at same time.

Regards

TO CABHARATBHUSHAN

It will be difficult to practically compare as we haven't been to Canada yet...But in general sense the basic difference will be weather, topography and culture.... In terms of economic opportunity they should be close.... About PR success ratio it depends on many factors and given annual priority of intended areas of qualification (skilled category)... The processing time also not very shorter in AUS IMM and they have some different system of credential evaluation (by nominated bodies) of academic qualification prior to application... One specific area of difference in Aus IMM than Can IMM that the former considers foreign credential for federal/state job...
But I am sure plenty of resources available online to support your decision of application either of the country and at the end of day its exclusively your decision..... ALL THE BEST
