I need to to discuss something with you. Recently I have got my PR under FSW1 Category and waiting to land in Canada. By this time, I have applied in few Universities in Canada. One of them is SFU, in the department of ECE. One of the professors of ECE has responded and recommended me as a graduate student in his research team under certain criterion. One of these is "No funding for the first Semester".
As I have went through the cost of Studying and other accessories, it seems for one year of study will cost me about 10k CAD. I have applied for Fall 2011, and haven't really applied for any of the scholarships because of I missed the deadlines.
Could you please let me know,
what are the chances that I may get an admission offer from the University as one of the Professor has recommended me?
Will I be able to get an scholarship (if I get an Admission offer, without funding from the professor) as I didn't applied for it?
What are the rules for the Immigrant (PR holder Students) to get BCSAP (British Columbia Student Assistance Program) / Student Loan / Bursary from the provincial government? and what are the chances of getting it from the 1st Semester?
