My point is one don't need to be assimilate to live in Canada. They can keep their cultural heritage.

Ok, noted. Maybe l used the wrong word. The intention is certainly not to ditch my culture and heritage. The intention is to adapt to the new life here. Integrate if you will. Perhaps that's a better word choice. I'm not living in the country where l was born and raised. I do need to adapt to the way of doing things here aka the culture.
