When I saw Trudeau on the news this AM he referred to it as a vaccination record and said some countries might require it for inbound Intn'l travelers, he didn't say if Canada would or not.
Looks like USA will restrict travel from India shortly as well.

Hmm, I wonder why some of the least expensive quarantine establishments are having more covid positive cases?
Don't they all have to follow the government protocols? Well, I guess you can catch the new variant through the hotel air conditioning
or a shuttle bus from the airport.

It seems as though the federal government has left it up to the hotels to implement there own quarantine policies so I’m not surprised. Some of the lower cost hotels don’t seem to be running the hotels correctly and at thst cost likely wouldn’t be able to do a very good job,
There are 18 quarantine hotels available in my area and only a few are doing a reasonable job. They are not the least expensive and I wonder
if the federal government has actually inspected any of them?
The program is supposed to deter travel and keep people safe but more were arriving with fake covid tests and others would take the $3k
fine rather than go to the 3-day resort. Seems like some sort of circus show.
What's really strange if your covid test result comes back positive while you are in the 3-day quarantine hotel you will be relocated by public
health to another government facility/hotel that has one of the highest ratings and good food just to ensure you don't infect anyone else.

Hotels need to be run by the government and not optional like Australia or NZ.
Not sure where you saw that it needs to be extended as I have not seen an end date to that requirement but:
There is absolutely no question that it will be extended, this is going to be the case for a long time, the only option in the future may be that with proof of vaccines people may not have to but that's very speculative, is not going to happen soon, and I would not expect it to be the case even when Vaccines will provide some advantage when travelling (anything at this point would be complete guesses).
It will just be rolled over. All of the travel restrictions are on rolling thirty day orders.

Yes there are calls to turn it more into an Australian model once we get our community spread under control.
