The tricky thing about covid is that you can test negative right this second and test positive in half an hour.
Not to mention the new Breton variant (From Bretagne, an area of France) that is undetectable by PCR tests :)

The paper reports the French health ministry revealed that despite being infected with the virus, the patient PCR test was negative. The virus was detected through genomic sequencing of the samples.

It’s apparently the first time any variant has slipped past the ‘gold-standard’ PCR tests. The PCR tests cannot diagnose other variants, like the Brazil and South African versions, it will still give a positive COVID result reports the Daily Mail.

Scientists at the Institut Pasteur who discovered the Breton variant said it doesn’t appear to be more transmissible or deadly than the original virus

I agree. Unfortunately one member of our extended family used to mock the virus/pandemic...she died recently because of Covid. 30 yo with 2 kids.
It's sad to see a young mother passed away. But rrss13 is right that people do't believe it until it hits them or a loved one.

I knew of people that got it and some that passed away. I have already been taking the distancing and the social restriction seriously.
But I got so tired of trying to tell people that it's necessary and serious. It's not something that you can ignore and play around with the rule.

I haven't seen my parents close up for a year. (A few times through an open door while they stayed inside and we stand in their front yard.)
Some probably think that I am overly careful but they are old and I DO NOT want to be the one that passed something deadly to them.

I've had coworkers that have caught it but still don't think its a big deal because they were fine after
Long covid has seriots long term health consequences and around 10% of people who got covid get long covid including many who weren’t hospitalized and didn’t have a severe case of covid. This is not anything people should want to get. It can have life altering side effects. People are focused on death from covid and not the potentially serious longterm health issues.

No. Brittany is a noun, not an adjective. Breton has two meanings : as a noun : someone from or resident in Brittany, France; someone from a Breton-speaking community or family; a Celtic language spoken in this region.
As an adjective: that relates to Brittany.

Not going to get into grammar but UK variant, Brazil variant, etc. is the exact same structure as Brittany variant.

Do you say the France variant or the French variant ? Do you say the Moroccan variant (if it exists) or the Morocco variant ? Do you say the Chinese virus/variant or the China variant/virus ?
