Hi everyone, how are you all doing?
We have sent our application to CPC-M and I was approved as a sponsor. I was told in the approval letter that my wife's application (stage 2 - applicant) would be sent to Manila since she's from the Philippines. However, there's been a pretty big error on the side of CIC and her application ended up in New Delhi, India (confirmed by CIC). It has been suggested by a member (thank you canadiangirl) to ask around see if anyone from New Delhi would be interested in helping us out and ring them and tell them or hand deliver a note on our behalf to correct this mistake. I think it is a good idea. Anyone? It would really help us out!

Thanks!

Hey TS,

I have been to the NEW DELHI EMBASSY, first f all you have to park your car 5 to 6 km away from the embassy or get a taxi....second the security guards out there are SUPERRUDE even though they dnt know the full ABCD....but they act as they are the immigration officer and third they wont talk to anyone in regards to your case as they only talk to people who are assigned by the applicant or the sponsoror..... they might take the document but who knows if it ll get delieverd to the right person or not.....so your best bet would to find a India Embassy near your area and advise them about the mistake....

Not that i am saying no one would want to help you out but this is the FACT...

Indian Embassy eh... :\ But that's two different countries... I'd expect the Canadian embassy to be manned by canadians... Is it manned by indians?

I have a feeling they will throw it aside because I "dared" waste their time and they are offended I have the "guts" to send them an application that does not belong in their office.
"Oops, I think I burnt the police certificate by mistake"..
"Oops, I fed the marriage licence to the dog.... by... mistake! Yes. Mistake!"
"Oops, what the hell, we lost the whole application!"

I think they will notice the mistake and send the application to Manila. It costs some extra time which sucks but I am certain they will discover the mistake. Applications are possibly pre screened to check for completeness and grade of difficulty. It will all be solved.

have you considered sending an email or case specific enquiry to Delhi to alert them to the mistake (if they haven't figured it out already which they probably have), and to ask them to confirm when they'll be sending the application to Manila?

I did. I haven't heard from them. 4 days have passed by, nothing.
How is it that they sent a PPR if they realized the mistake already? Or that they didn't alert me to it?
And if they didn't realize the mistake, will they ever? Or did they simply put the application away until they receive a passport and try to match the passport with the application THEN they will realize there has been a mistake. I feel like there is no pre-screening and it is all dependent on someone who MAY or MAY NOT read the case specific inquiry or fail to match/find our application.

Thanks to terrorist attacks, such precautions are necessary ( Park 5-6 KMS away )
If the security guard could speak in fluent English, he won't be doing that job
He is doing his job, if he smiles then shows weakness
The "Indians" who take the 1st level interview simply pass it on the real "Canadians" who make the decision

..PS: Thats the case in almost all embassies. They had lunch arrangement inside as well, and even had a cigarette with one of the consular who I happened to meet in Taj Hotel, Mumbai ( before going to Delhi for my Student Visa in 2000 ). It's just the line up and wait time kills you but that's what happens when half of Punjab and rest of India wants to come here

Your worry is evident and believe me, everyone sympathizes. It's so frustrating when your fate is in the hands of a nameless (hopefully not incompetent) bureaucrat. That said, give it a while longer than 4 days before you assume the worst. Three things:

1. There's no reason to believe your CSE won't be read and answered, but perhaps you'd feel it worthwhile to send a letter, email or fax as well just to cover those bases too?

2. Another applicant on this board had a different passport problem a couple of months ago and sent both an email and fax to Delhi. He received a reply within 30 days (don't know if that's the service standard but it's something to consider).

3. I gather this is the first PPR so there's no deadline attached and you're not forced to submit it right away - that's one positive thing.

Hope that helps and keep us updated on how things turn out.

My wife tried to call, she said they don't take inquiries by phone.
I tried Immigration fax but wasn't working because it is broken. I faxed at Mission fax (so basically they didn't get it, but I tried anyway).

Both my wife and I sent separate inquiries via the case specific inquiries.

4 days later: no reply; nothing. :(

Do you know if the hours of operations are local India time or Canada EST? I'd like to try calling myself and see if I have better luck...
