Hi we have the same timeline, also requested for a name change ,single applicant , Mississauga office, I received a letter in March that my case is referred to program support unit and that maybe cause a delay, and now my case now is no routine because of name change,

I haven't received any notification, everytime I called they said everything is ok.. I asked if they have any note about my name change and nothing

We are not the only ones, that their application is delayed because of name change. Some of them got the letter and some didn’t in this forum, there are some applicants since October

I think this delay It is not exactly because of the name change. I dont know exactly what is the reason for delay but at least I have seen 2 of my friends get there passport less than 10 months even they changed there name

I renewed my PR card and changed my name no problem, ECAS is now showing my new name (Legal Ontario name change..) contacted MP and said everything passed so what else is need it who knows.. It is not fair the average cases finish in 12 months when you have some ready in 6 months and others 15.. I also try to expedite my partner application for work purposes but not luck either.
