Dear Zeshan,
I second carbonpaper on that, there is no need to go to consultants now a days as everything is available on internet.

If you go to www.cic.gc.ca and follow the category you want to apply under. Forms alongwith guides as to how and what to fill in the forms is all available there.

First you have to fill in all the forms and send them to Centralised Intake Office, Sydney, Canada alongwith application fee.

Once approved, they'll send you an email to submit all the updated forms again with all supporting documents listed in the checklist. You will send all this to your local visa office, which is London in your case and wait for further correspondances from them.

If you search all in this forum, you'll find every single detail on this forum as well, kind of step by step guide.

I also agree with the previous 2 responses. The only thing is that if you want to do it correctly and make no mistakes. Make sure you go through all the instruction guides available on the cic website and prepare a list of questions you have on your mind. Search this forum to find answers to your questions and ask those that you can't find the answers to, on this forum.

If you have all your education and work experience from single location then it might be much easier for you as you can arrange for all the documents. Remember the most difficult part is the documents gathering and putting them in order according to the CIC requirements.

The more countries that you have lived in the more difficult and lengthy your document gathering will be.

Be prepared to read a lot and research a lot using cic website and this forum. Answers to all your questions are there its just a matter of finding them. If you are good at digging information and have time at your hand then you wont have issues at all. Otherwise better get an immigration consultant and start picking his brain or let him pick your brain and waste money in the process.

CIC does not give any preference if you applied via an immigration consultant / lawyer. Sorry I can't advise on an immigration consultant in Karachi, Pakistan as I applied myself.

By applying yourself, another advantage is that you are also training yourself for life in Canada as you will have to start doing stuff by yourself.
