Any effect on spousal PR if passport is changed during application?

Hi everyone,

My wife has her spousal application in progress right now (applied in February 2017).

We needed to update the ID card and passport so that the husbands name is present on it. I know that is NOT a requirement for CIC but for future visits back, it was needed in our country (Pakistan).

We submitted the application to get the process started instead of modifying these documents first (which would take a couple of months and delay the application).

We are updating these documents now and will provide CIC the new documents by end of this month.

I just wanted to ask that this is alright and shouldn't affect our application negatively?

no, changing your name in a passport has no negative impact on the applicaiton. all you need to do is send a copy of the new passport to the visa office. there's nothing more to it than that.
