any dentist graduates trying Express Entry for immigration? NOC 3113

Hi Guys,

A friend of mine wants to come to Canada, he and his wife are dentists. I was wondering what are the steps required for them. Please if you could be as detailed as possible, and provide steps as guidance.

You need to study dental hygienist course in order to become a dental hygienist in Canada

There are two requirements if you want to practice as a dentist in canada.
1 Get PR
2 Pass the NDEB exam (AFK, ACS, ACJ, OSCE and Written) and obtain licence to practice dentistry in Canada.
(You also have an option to get admission to a dental program after you clear AFK but thats competitive too)

Other options are:
1 Dental Hygienist (get admission in a dental hygienist program and clear the NDHCB)
2 Dental Assistant (directly apply to NDAEB and give theory and practical exams, clear it and practice as a dental hygienist OR enter a program for about a year and then practice as a dental assistant)

Hi,
1 You apply under NOC 3113 dentist ONLY as you are neither dental assistant, nor dental hygienist.

2 You will be able to work as a dental assistant if you clear that NDAEB process. (apply to the board and then give written and practical exams directly OR enter a dental assistant program and then give board exam).
You will be able to work as a dental hygienist only if you enter a dental hygiene program. NDHCB doesn't consider dentistry from any other country to be equivalent to dental hygiene program as its a separate entity.

3 You need to apply for NDEB equivalency process. It costs 1150 CAD. Details available on NDEB website. Once they deem you acceptable, You can give AFK (Acknowledgement of Fundamental Knowledge) exam and score good on this. Generally 75 is the bare minimum required as of now.

After this you have 2 options:
Either enter a dental program and get retrained and give NDEB written and OSCE exams to get DDS
OR
Go for the direct licence path where you give ACS, ACJ and then Written and OSCE to get NDEB certification and Licence to practice dentistry in Canada. (I think its also valid for NZ but not sure)

Yes I personally know many dentists who have landed in Canada.
Some of them are already licenced to practice dentistry already.

My brother and wife both are dentist and have 3+ years of experience in India. In order to improve the score other than IELTS, what are the various options. Please advise.
Any job offer option etc?

no job offer unless they have pr. difficult to get positive lmia for dentist. only option is to improve ielts score to L8 R7 W7 S7 for primary applicant.

Is there any difference between evaluation of degree that is BDS from WES or ICAS...any point difference from these bodies? And Which body is more useful for BDS degree evaluation?

I have got it done from WES. Was quick. Took about 10 to 12 days from the day they received it.
No points are given as we go for ECA for immigration to get "First professional degree in dentistry"
You can claim 135 on CRS based on that for Masters/professional degree

hello house.... i have a query regarding ndeb registeration process. I have done MDS, and NDEB registeration portal asks for gradutaion only. S
o in that case do I have to fill my MDS degree completion or BDS degree completion details??????????? please respond. thanks in advance

If you apply for NDEB equivalency, you just need to fill BDS details. cos ur going for licence to practice dentistry (equivalent to BDS)

If you want to directly go for specialization, you need to go for DSCKE route.

if I have a self employment period of working, what should I send with it to support my letter? some ppl told me I need some receipts!

You need proof of self employment (clinic details, Registration, bank account in name of clinic, professional tax receipts, IT returns showing proof of income from said self employment/clinic). If one or two are missing/not available, no issues.
Along with that, you need a duties letter all with hours etc prepared by yourself on your letterhead. (as you were self employed)
Some reference letters from Colleagues
Couple of notarized reference letters from patients in simple words stating treatment done and payment made. (no stamp paper only simple notary)
