Do we need to get some training before getting a job?

You first need to pass an exam for engineers since its a regulated profession. Get an entry level job and work up from there

I thought the whole point of CIC pitching the FSW NOCs was that there was a shortage of skilled professionals in those particular NOCs. If there are already Canadian engineers to take up the jobs, why on earth do they want more of us to immigrate there?

So that non-Canadian engineers can work at McDonalds, Security guard, and taxi driver. How do you expect to get a job as an Engineer in Canada by spending 1/4 the money of what it would cost to become an engineer in Canada by doing your degree from India?

Unlike what they say about robust system of community colleges, its actually because of foreign educated people not having their degrees recognized that makes Canada have highest number of people with post secondary education among G8 nations

I was planning to do a Master's degree course in Canada after getting there. Looks like it would be better to do a plumbing or a carpentry course here in India before coming there.
