Any change in 8 month stay in Canada Rule?

HI, I will be starting my 8 month certificate course in May, 2021. But there is still some doubt if the course will be online or on campus. Normally, this is a full time on campus course but due to covid it might not happen fully on campus. After completing the course, will I able to achieve the points for the canadian education since as of now it says that you have to be in canada for 8 months.

Please let me know so i can decide if I should defer joining the course to sept.

I'm in the same situation. Does anyone has any info about this.
As far as I know, when you create ee profile all the info input is if the certificate is "full-time" or not. There is no 8 months rule anywhere in the form. And I expected the certificate is full-time because the program is full-time.
I send question to my school already, still waiting for reply.
I know coming to Canada and learn there 8 months is the safetest choice but all the 3 days quarantine with extra fees, then the government encourages learning online from outside Canada but has no clear answer for ee point... just leave a bad taste in my mouth.
