Nothing has been mentioned about the PCC in the UAE checklist. But people have been giving it with their application. To quote the CIC, PCC may be required for a student or visitor but for a PR applicant it is a mandatory requirement. I'm going to apply for my home country PCC since I'm on vacation right now. Applying for the Kuwait PCC - I don't know if I should. Don't want to delay the application any further considering how long it takes to get the student permit issued from the Canadian UAE embassy.

When I was submitting my application ay VFS Abu Dhabi (Pakistani National), he checked my documents and went through the Police Clearance Certificates. He told me that they are not required at this moment, but it is good if they are attached with the application.

VO MAY ask for it.

How long does it take to get PCC (assuming you're from UAE)? I'm from Kuwait. Just to get an idea of the time frame.

what is your bank here in UAE? How long did you get the PCC? what is the validity period of UAE PCC?

In Abu Dhabi, you can get it from Marina Mall. There is Abu Dhabi Police counter, which is opened on 4 days a week (Sunday to Wednesday) 3 pm to 9 pm. You just have to bring your Emirates ID copy, passport copy, Visa Copy and original Emirates ID. They will charge 155 (approx.) for English PCC. You will get it within one hour. Resident of any emirate can apply. You can apply at any police station in UAE. They will take one hour maximum.

In Dubai, I guess, it takes 3+ days to get it and request it online. How come it's possible for people from other emirates to get a PCC in AUH?

I have Dubai resident visa. I got my PCC from Abu Dhabi police station. Go to any police station and present the documents. Hopefully, you will get it in one hour. The whole data is online, no matter which emirates you are resident. PCC for job purposes, they require request letter from the company. But for immigration/embassy purposes, they do not require any application. Just Emirates ID copy and Passport copy/visa copy are sufficient.

Thanks for the info. Since I have a Kuwait permit I'll approach the Kuwait authorities. Hoping I get in one day :)

Did they ask for your home country police clearance as well?

I've a query regarding medical. Is it advisable to give medical before we apply? Or should we wait for the call?
I'm working in kuwait and it's not under the list of countries that require medical.

Regards,

Regards,

If you have visited any country for more than 6 months in last one year which requires medical, than VO may ask for the medical. I visited my home country for 2 months in one year and I haven't received any medical call.

I'm currently in my home country for 20 days. Hope they don't ask for the medical. I was wondering if I had to give my medical prior to applying. Now I don't think I should.

I got the approval letter from Canadian embassy. :-)
Study permit approved. Whole process took 5 weeks to complete.
Applied on 6 April, and today, 12 May, my passport is back.
