Any Americans around here? I have a question.

I'm an American citizen. I applied by mail (wasn't aware I could apply at the border). How long does it typically take to be approved? Also on my application I put my email so that all correspondence would go to my email. If I'm approved or denied will they send me an email letting me know? Also is there anyway to check the status of my application?
 
They won't let you know their decision by email.

Best thing to do is just wait until you receive your permit in the mail. Americans usually get the study visa easily if they have no background issues (including DUI).

Interesting. I've read of people being notified by email on this forum. I just figured since the application asked for my email address and stated "indicating an email address will authorize all correspondence, including file and personal information to be sent to the email address you specify."

i didnt got single email from them instead they sent messages on phone

Man, I was still waiting, though I am not American, which consulate did you sent your application?

New York office. I'm worried I won't be approved in time. They received my application on Thursday of last week and I start school January 7th. Well I'm supposed to. Does anyone know how I can check the status of it?

So did I, mine is Jan. 7 too, would take 30 days around according to some comments related, not quite sure.
