Hello! Just curious... as I'm typing (well, re-typing/re-sorting) my application mess, I have 2-3 pages of detailed facts mixed with feelings and joking remarks and the like for each question I'm responding to. - Question 6: First Meeting
- Question 9: Development of Relationship
- Question 11: Additional Close Friends/Family Sponsor Met
- Question 14: Engagement
- Question 15: Wedding
- Question 18: Reception
- Question 19: Honeymoon
- Question 24: Sponsor’s Reason for Being Unable to Visit
- Question 25: Applicant’s Visits

Then after that, my additional information letter would be yet another page of lovingness and why we should be together in my opinion. Is this a common approach to answering these questions? Or did you just list the facts in a paragraph and skip the super-ultra details such as this: "I remember seeing him with his suitcase and his trademark hat (a fedora). Well, technically my sister saw him first." I'm becoming concerned I may be carrying on a bit...

we decided that it was best to keep it simple and fact-based for the actual answers to specific questions, and to be more flowery/descriptive/personal/mushy in the "write whatever thoughts would help convince CIC of a genuine relationship" section.

We did the same kept it pretty fact based, only sneaking in the occasional fun or love related comment. (I proposed to my hubby and we made a remark under that section saying that I thought he was taking too long, hehe).

But I did not want to overwhelm them with a ton of mushy info or make it seem like we were trying too hard. We found a middle ground, that gave the dates and a little bit of personality. The spaces are not very big and we already had additional pages for some things, did not want to have to add a ton more.

I hope that makes sense for you, lol.

We answered with mostly facts to those questions and saved the details for the letters.

Just the facts.

Wow! I was definitely doing it the long way. I had no idea everyone was giving just facts. Makes sense, though!

For the development of the relationship, is it okay to just do a numbered list and write the events? I did re-arrange what I'd done. It's a lot cleaner. :)

Nevermind. I have decided to provide a bulleted timeilne followed by the complete narrative of our relationship (about 10 pages) from beginning to end. I may or may not include a "provide why this is a genuine relationship letter" though because this kind of does it... :)
