Have already asked this in the Quebec thread but since it's more general, asking it here too:

Earlier I had read on Quebec's website that the docs required for work experience are only an offer letter and work exp letter. But in the actual PDF Checklist, they mention:

21: To certify the legality of work exp, proof of your social security contributions or proof of exemption from payment of social security premiums. If you cannot provide proof of social security contributions or proof of exemptions from payment of social security premiums, you must provide proof of payment of income tax.

Now since my annual salary income is below the tax slab, it is exempt from income-tax and I have not filed any IT Returns. What should I do about this? I am afraid they will return my application if I don't send them ALL the reqd. documents, this one being one of them.

Any assistance would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi neville,
They require this all documents as they need to check the genuinity of the work experience as claimed by an applicant.
So, an applicant must attach all these with his application for qsw:
Appointment letter & offer letter,
Increment letters,
Promotion letters,
Appraisal letters,
Appreciation mails or such letters received from your boss or from your company,
Copies of Pay slips, and copy of bank account statement if salary is deposited in ur bank account
PF statements,
income tax returns,
Resignation letter & relieving letter & work experience letter for all your previous jobs within 5 yrs of application date.

Now, as per your case, if applicant is not able to provide any of this documents, such as ITR in ur case, he must write a covering letter mentioning his situation for not providing such documents and must attach this covering letter with his application for qsw.
I hope this will solve ur query.

I guess many of the applicants annual salary falls below the tax slab and hence exempt frm IT .....but you still need to file ur returns as NIL.

I guess what you can do in this matter is get a CA to do computation of your income for that assessment yr(even though you don't attach an IT acknowledgement its OK) and say that u didn't filed due to income below tax slab.

Keep this doc ready and also ask ur CA if its possib to file IT returns for that yr as u may need to show it at VO :)

Hello
I am about to file for quebec can you guide me how can I fill error less form.

Even if one is paying taxes and is well above the thresh hold, we do not get a tax return before a year unless it is filed and responded for.

This is my situation as well as a couple of friends.

So if we submit offer letter + contract, last 3 pay stubs (a couple more pay stubs too from beginning and middle of almost a year claimed for in Canada)
and bank statement of say six months that shows pay transferred each pay period with employer name, that should be sufficient?
