No we did not ask for GSMC, we just contacted to MP and he told our case is in security check

Well you don't really need anymore since it's almost been a year already and they told you it's in a security check.

My timeline is similar, we applied on June 1st then it's been transferred to Ankara on August 3rd. Since the interview in December we haven't heard anything:( notes showed that security check is in process...

It's almost a year for most of us, so I really hope it's almost over! Please keep us updated if you hear anything:)

Thank you. you too. let me know if you received good news

Hi everyone
I have the same situation as most of you. I applied for sponsoring my husband on June y. The processing time is over, the medical is expired and all they say to us is that the security checks are not finished yet. This is really annoying as they are giving us all the same answer, sounds like a conspiracy

Mina & Pantea welcome
As you see we are all May and June applicants and we are all waiting, nothing new, they emailed me and also they said they are waiting on security screening as well. let's see what this week will bring for us.

I just don't get it. Security checks, all our husbands are stuck in security checks. I think it's just an exuse. I understand if we were all from the same country, but we are not. So question remains- what's going on? Can someone remind me, how to check if your security is completed. I read somewhere, that you have to fill out a form and wait for 2 months.

Hi Manitobagirl. You are talking about the CSIS form. You have to get your husband consent and fax it and you will get the results in 2 months. I ordered for my husband 17 April. I hope it will have some info. Because for GCMS notes they white out the security parts with a correction pen.

What do you think about sending this request: If the embassy does not disclose any info to the individual or MP will CSIS disclose it?

How can I find out about the status of my immigration screening file?

For general information on immigration/ citizenship/ refugee/ visa-related issues, contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) at 1-888-242-2100 or website www.cic.gc.ca.

•a full name,
•date and place of birth,
•the signature of the applicant, and
•a return mailing address as replies are not sent by email or fax.

If you are enquiring on behalf of another person, the request must be accompanied by the Consent Form to Disclose Information to a Designated Individual.

Mail or fax the request to CSIS at the attention of:

Assistant Director, Operations

Thank you for the summary :)
As for us, it's mainly Russia, Azerbaijan is only for the background check.

Medical expiry is around the corner for most of us, I really hope and pray we will hear something this week!

Thanks for adding me into this list.

How can I find the complaint form?? I really like to complain about their slow and unfair processing time.

Click on Give Feedback. There is a space in the complaint form to put name info, etc but it is not mandatory.
Hi Mina. You're welcome. It is sad to know others are in the same situation but together we should be able to do something. Put a clear title such as Ankara taking 1.5 times processing time so far for spouse sponsorship and explain the case. I even wrote if you read this complaint please give it a thorough thought and call Ankara.

I already have done this few months back but there is still no answer, I don't think they are going to do anything about this. Cic is very much so aware of the issue we all have, but for some reason they are not doing anything. Sad but true, we just have to wait, hopefully it's the end of it

I keep doing it once every month sending a new complaint. Sometimes you know the issue but it is good to get reminders about it. They may eventually understand our pain.
