I hope this stage time passed in short time. :)

Yeahhhhhhh

I know you still need to wait but at least you know that it's happening and they are working on it.
I wish you get it by end of February.

That is good news lboxixodl! :) Your file must definitely be at the final stages now. I don't think they would request a new medical if they still had work to finish.

Well, it's been a little more than 2 weeks now since Ankara sent us an email to say they would "shortly" be requesting my husband's passport for visa issuance. I guess we now know that Ankara's definition of "shortly" is not the same as mine ::) haha.

i seriously taught 'shortly' was no longer than 2 weeks as well but i was definitely wrong. we all have to remember 'shortly' in Turkey is not the same as 'shortly' in Canada. It seems like everything is taking 2-3 times longer than it did few years ago.

Actually that is an issue with English. they say "Just a second" and come back "Several Minutes" later if not more :)

Valentine is end of this week, Persian New year is almost 6 weeks away and my Wedding-ceremony is 6 months away... I have never counted days so closely in my life.

I know that older ppl tell us this will pass too and sure it will pass...I want this to pass with love for all of us. We all need to be right beside our spouses and enjoy every bits of this world together. Univers, God, and whoever is involved please make it happen !
I am fortunate to have him with me here, even though he may need to leave end of March and I am hoping it won't happen. I am praying for each and every line of the holy spreadsheet to become green!

Hi Folks,

I previously applied for my wife to come here using TRV (Her application is in Ankara, sponsorship approval 28 August), but it got rejected; This time I am going for open work permit, do you think I can apply for her using open work permit? or should I go with TRV again?

Thanks

It is often very difficult to get a tourist vistor's visa for a spouse because you have to prove your wife will go back to her home country and not over stay on her visit visa. It is very usual to get reject since you (as her husband) are in Canada and she is applying to be a permanent resident of Canada.

Here is information for the Open Work Permit. I am not sure if your wife would qualify or not. You can be the best judge for that: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=177&t=17

You could always try again for the visitor's visa, but you need to show lots of proof and ties she has to her home country (For example: proof of home ownership, proof of business ownership, paid school enrollment/proof of employment + letter from employer stating she is going on vacation and needs to return for her job, return airplane ticket, etc.)

Thanks SooMazi,
previous time I provided them with my wife's enrollment letter (M.Sc) and lots of proofs; I think they rejected her based on no basis that is why I want to apply again, I heard if you apply a few time they will finally give it to you.
