Hello folks, we applied for visitor visa for my inlaws, they both got biometric validity letters at the same time but only one got a passport request letter. She sent her passport and got the visa. It's been almost 2 months but the other person has not got a passport request letter, even though I can see his visa number and expiry date in the application tracker. We have sent webforms but no response yet. What should we do?

I would like to know on where exactly is our current position, what should we expect soon and approximately when are we going to asked for something.

Shortly, my husband left our country (Azerbaijan) 5 years ago to go to Canada as a refugee and became a protected person in a short time. He later on applied for PR for himself and for us dependents in Azerbaijan. After long a wait, IRCC and Ankara asked for medical, bio and extra documents from us in December 2021 and we fulfilled all of their requirements.

Few months after that my husbands PR got accepted and was officially a PR.

Now this year in April we received a pre-arrival letter, and in June we left our country to go to Georgia to meet up with my husband since it has been too long and wanted to meet up for few weeks.

During our time in Georgia (this was in July this year) we got a letter from Ankara asking us to send the renewed passports of my children (the old ones were nearing expiring so we had to renew) and they requested a form to be filled regarding background from my son since he turned 18 recently, we went back home to Azerbaijan and sent all of the requested things.

Now ever since then we have not heard anything from them until I sent a direct email to Ankara immigration requesting our current status in the application and they told us that “our file has been preliminary assessed and is currently in the queue for the secondary review.”

I am very confused as to what exactly it means and I did a little bit of digging and it seems like they do secondary review if they have found a particular problem in the application so they do a second review. Now I don’t know if thats a completely different thing or not but it has left us confused and concerned that we will have to wait another year for this…

I would just like to know, where we are in this process and when can we APPROXIMATELY expect something new from them. How far away are we from COPR and from them asking for our passports. Are we gonna have to wait another year just to go through medical and send documents again?
