personally MPs can only do so much. My MP has been trying but hasn't made much of a difference. 3 months since we gave our passport to Nilgam, 2 months at the embassy and no updates... with many got theirs back weeks ago. SO random
Did you get it back? If so after how long?

No one can tell for sure and it has been slow for so long but since you mentioned you got your second DM i believe it means they have finalized your PPR process. That second "in process" status update you got was probably for when they got your passport and started the final final check before issuing the visa. You also said you sent your pass before new years holidays so that might have added some more delay but things are not as usual and i personally think government is under pressure to limit the number of people coming to canada these days. But keep it positive ! at least you are very close. Me and my wife are still waiting for the biometrics request after a year. I know it because i ordered gcms notes months ago and it says they put a pause on sending it to us because of covid. I would normally recommend people to order gcms notes to find out more details about their case but it takes a month to receive the results and hopefully you wont need to bother. Just make sure you keep tracking everything and if everything was done properly on your end.
the gentleman with the id "AliPrn" you replied to had a case where he had to wait longer than the other applicants with the same timeline because as he mentioned he had not paid the application fees in full and they never reminded him of that so he had to dig in and kept pushing his MP only to find out there was a missing fee and as soon as he paid it off he got the passport going for visa and sent back to him.

Best of luck to you !

The MP mentioned that on Jan 19th he saw a note on our file that then new CoPR would be valid till March 26th but it has not been issued yet. Not sure what that means though

I read that case and I check with my consultant and in my application that all fees were paid. I also sent Ankara emails via webform to see if anything was missing and they replied that all is fine and to just wait

My wife's medical expires 16th Feb. Passport is still with Ankara. Im hoping they extend the medical expiry date
Well I don’t think it is his medical. The message from MP said that a note on his file indicated that his new CoPR will expire on March 26th 2021. This note was added the same day we got the second decision made.

Thats a good sign then. So yes if they issue this copr, then you will have to land before copr expiry date, which as you mentioned is 26th march

Yes the question is IF they issue this one cause the MP said they haven’t issued it. Just says Decision Made on CIC but under process on VFS tracking. It is so confusing.

Do not worry about medical at all. If all is well then you just have to wait. My guess is they are debating if they should stop more people entering Canada these days but hopefully in your case it wont affect you since our spouses are officially canadian residence upon final approval so lets see. Just have a bit more patience and theres nothing else you can do so relax and hope for the best

Yes thank you. I am just trying to figure out a timeline to see if it is worth it to go back to Iran to be with my husband. If it will be just a couple more weeks I will wait but if it will be a couple more months then I will go back. It is the uncertainty that is the worst.
