I sent an email to Ankara and this is their answer:

Due to ongoing efforts to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus disease, we will only be providing essential services for Canadian citizens, Canadian Permanent Residents and their immediate family members. Please visit https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/canadas-reponse.html for more information.
So our wives are our immediate family members! I contacted them via web form and just received : "Due to Covid-19 our visa and immigration services are limited to essential services. "

it makes sense if they close for now, but it doesn't say it is closed

"Due to ongoing concerns related to the spread of COVID-19, preventative measures have been enacted throughout our global network of offices. Consular services remain available to Canadians. Many Government of Canada offices are encouraging clients to limit in-person visits"

it just says preventative measures and in my opinion it most likely means no in person contacts such as interviews and Biometrics... Maybe only essential staffers to provide services to Canadians abroad.

Tough time for all

Good read :

"
Canada still approving permanent residence applications
IRCC will continue to process new applications for permanent residence. Files with missing documents will be retained in the system and reviewed within 90 days.

Complete applications will be processed according to normal procedures.

New applications with missing supporting documentation will need to include an explanation that they are impacted by service interruptions due to the new coronavirus.

IRCC will take into account processing delays that may occur for principal applicants who are in Canada and have dependents abroad in China, Iran or South Korea who are unable to travel at this time. These applicants will not be granted permanent residence until travel is possible and they will be informed of the next steps.

Applicants for permanent residence who are in possession of a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and a Permanent Resident Visa (PRV) and who inform the IRCC that they are unable to travel will be able to maintain the validity of their documents."

I sent webform regarding change of my address to Ankara Visa office 35 days ago but they did not take any action yet. Based on Ecas my address shows the previous one.
I am confused as If I resend the webform.

Unfortunately we do not see any movement. This forum activity is telling me that there has been no update in the last 10-14 days. Has any one heard something? any update? They will accept the new applications but there is no processing, so what's the point! I believe they are saying this just to keep our mouth shut.

Right now we should only try to find out IF ANKARA VISA OFFICE is still working on our cases.
My personal guess is that they do accept and process things that can be done by their officers here in Canada who are able to work from home like basic first steps but highly doubt they keep the business as usual over there in Ankara where they make the final call.

Several people, including me, have contacted them and the reply was " Due to Covid-19 our visa and immigration services are limited to essential services". Although immediate family is considered essential! but unless I hear updates from people, I would say they are literally doing nothing on our cases.

They did not ask me for update police check. Secondly, about the pre-arrival leter, it provides you some additional information and guidlines to facilitate your enterance to Canada, passport request is another letter which will send for you after that.
It seems that they are answering to June applications, so you should prepare yourself for that. However the coronavirus makes the situation complicated, specially for the Iranian applicants. I am searching to find a way for visa picking up from Ankara.
Thanks! Did you hear anything back from them since when you got your pre-arrival letter?
Have you been able to call them to ask about the status, especially now with the Corona situation?

Thats what i also received from them. My lawyer also says based on what we know from IRCC they are accepting and processing applications but there will be some delays due to this situation. But thats just not enough for me i need to know if Ankara is still working or not. I guess the only way to be sure is to find out if anyone got any sort of update from Ankara

Hello Fellas,
For the applicants being in Iran, imagine reaching the final milestone and being passport requested. Has anyone figured out how visa can be stamped in passport with Turkey's borders being closed? Or the situation has changed.
I know we are questioning whether or not Ankara office is working or not but if they believe we cannot pick up the visa, it does not make sense we see passport request updates.
In other hand we might see pre-arrival letters or changing "in process" status to " decision made" which shows Ankara is still up and running.

What do you think guys...
