so you mean you previously sponsored your husband & now you are sponsoring someone else??
No, my husband was in Canada with Student visa when he applied for PR through Quebec skilled worker program (QSW). We got married after his application was approved and now he is sponsoring me as his spouse.
I am in Iran now. Outland sponsorship case.

Oh I see, I thought a permanent resident ought to wait for 2 years before being eligible to sponsor. My mistake.

Fortunately there is no such limitation but if your are married to your spouse for more than 2 years that would help with your case, otherwise you should prove that your relationship is genuine.

you will be OK - things will move smoothly provided that you married in Iran with some official ceremonies.

Is MP Member of Parliament?
I also have the same question: how an MP can know the status of your application?
And why should one get his/her MP involved, does it help at all or instead it might introduce some delays?
i'm not sure if MP is actually Member of Parliament, but that's what I thought too.

Yes we had, official ceremonies in Iran+ 6 years of history supported by photos! ;)

I completely understand that, too much frustration...
oh I didn't know that local MP could be involved in that!! but how would they know you guys need an interview!

Yes MP Member of Parliament, they have a direct line to CIC they can get info about your application. Beside the interview, even the medical we knew it was received from the MP assistant. It was never updated on the website till now!!
You can contact your local MP if you have concerns

They call CIC with your permission to access your file, they have their onw line not the one we use to call CIC
I don't think it can introduce any delay. And if it does am gone:( I have contacted many times and I get most update from them than the website

That's good. Hope they will, this process is overwhelming!!
Let us know

I went to my local MP's office today, the assistant took some information regarding the application and said they would get back to me in 7 to 10 business days!
they will call CIC on the sponsor's and/or the applicant's behalf to get some update on the application

let's stay hopeful and positive against all the odds
