Processing time for Ankara changed to 10 months, hopefully they will start processing our applications quicker!

Mississauga received my application on Feb 6th. 2016. I have lived in USA and still live in USA for 18 years, however I am not a resident or citizen, just under DACA in USA so Mississauga sent app to Ankara because Country of citizenship is Turkey. : But looking forward to being reunited with my wife...I have read next year, 2017 applicants will be able to reside and work in Canada while waiting for a decision for permanent residency if applying under family sponsorship.

Hi everyone

Yes, Ankara processing time keeps changing from 12 months recently to 11 months and now to 10 months. It is encouraging. My application received September 28 and I received SA October 28. File transfer Nov 1. Two lines in ECAS last one being "Medicals Received". Unfortunately, my myCIC account must be having some technical glitch as it is not updated. It is yet to be resolved and I hope to see more detail on the progress.

There is not one processing time for Ankara. Processing time for Turkish applicants is now 10 months. For Iranians it is 9 months. For Azerbaijani and Georgians it is 15 months.

There is not one processing time for Ankara. Processing time for Turkish applicants is now 10 months. For Iranians it is 9 months. For Azerbaijani and Georgians it is 15 months.

Well my husband doesn't fall under any of them lol He's a Russian citizen but as I already said Mississauga decided to send our application to Ankara because my husband was born in Azerbaijan.

Oh well, I'm sure we will hear something very soon

I know another applicant that his wife's status changed to decision made but they are still waiting for two months. I don't know what Ankara is doing!

Yes, some get lucky and some don't as it really is case specific... A family member that I know has gotten PR approximately in 6 months or less from Ankara VO. Every week is a new beginning hope week for us and we will continue to wait and hopefully some answers will be given soon.

Both Shiler (Iran) and Balasana89 (Georgian resident) were invited to an interview, but Strength2 (Iranian) and my wife (Georgian citizen) have not as yet.

Thanks for the info. If I were you, I would contact Ankara ASAP by any means possible (phone, email, case-specific enquiry) including getting your member of parliament to call them. Perhaps your passport request has fallen through the cracks.

Thanks PMC. I wanted to do Case Specific Enquiry but when you open up that page it is written there, we will only respond to you if your processing time has elapsed the regular processing time for your country. At that time it was 10 months, now it is 9 months. So, I have a question here we applied on 18th February, should we wait for 18th November before doing a Case specific? It is because i have heard that it delays the process, i know it is already delayed so that;s why do not wanna risk. What do you suggest?

Is there any spreadsheet for Ankara VO? I appreciate all the information you are sharing in this forum. Here is my time line:

Sept 28: Application received by CPC Mississauga
Oct 28: Received SA
Nov 7: ECAS PA side “In Process” with two lines: (1) Application Received on Sept 28 and (2) Medicals Received
Nov 11: Third line added in ECAS PA side: (1) Application Received on Sept 28 and (2) Starting processing your application Nov 9 and (3) Medicals Received
Shortly before I received SA letter, I am not able to see any updates on myCIC and the account number still shows XF. In response to my email via technical support, I have received an email saying they are working to address the issue.

Best thing to do is probably ask the local MP office to enquire on your behalf. My wife did this about 3 weeks ago in Toronto being that she currently resides there and they mentioned that it is in the works at the moment and to not send too many emails or requests. They received our application on February 6th and it seems like it defers from case to case as far as when you will receive PR. Our GCMS notes from June stated our application is due by March 2017. I have sent emails but no responses from any of them regarding updates. So at this point just stay positive , check your GCMS notes if you haven't already, look at your due date and see when the app is due. If like my wife and I, you will see around same time frame (March-ish..) which we only have a few months left at worst until march anyways.

It helps and comforts me to know that we are all going through the same struggles and missing our loved ones. I know as much as you do that this hurts and it is hard to be away from loved ones but at least it will all come to an end eventually. For me specifically 8 months and counting. Have faith and let time take care of the rest. Share your thoughts with this forum and you may feel better! lol
