four years later. almost two of waiting on CIC. And two weeks before we were approved, my husband called it quits.

2000 miles and 18 months was just too much.

thank you everyone for your well wishes.

Am so sorry you are going through this!-God know's its not an easy road to travel and he also knows why things happen the way they do!-Big hugs

Sad news. I can understand the stress but to quit when the approval has finally come....a waste.

ELOH, this is not an easy process. All the best to the both of you. :'(

I'm so sorry to hear that, Eloh. I guess I can understand how this process can strain a relationship that didn't yet have a chance to mature by a shared life together. Four years of a relationship with 2 of that being apart doesn't make for a very strong foundation, especially when you've had so many bad things happen during that time to put both of you under further stress. On top of that, the difference between your situation compared to others is that you have been "so close to the end" for so long, which just makes it that much more stressful.

Are you going to land at least? After all this suffering, why not, right? Or does your husband have to be there with you to sign documents?

Aawwww ELOH, how sad. I wish we could all give you hugs and listen to you vent (if you express pain this way). It must be terribly hard. I would love to come up with some strong encouraging words to sooth but I don't think anything I say will be good enough. You may not want to hear this right now but if he gave up on you and what you had right now then maybe he would have done so in the future as well. It may be four years of your life but it is better that if it would have been 14years and with kids in the mix. Take heart. Cry it out and know that God is making way for your perfect companion (not a perfect person but a perfect companion for you).

I wonder whether CIC will now allow you to at least start a life in Canada. Maybe as a skilled worker? They had better after what they have done. No matter what happens I wish you the very best. I will say a prayer for you.

I wish the rest of us well also!!! This distance thing ...............................

How does your application take so long? This was an American VO, they normally can finish a good application within a year tops. A four year relationship should be a piece of cake for the CIC

they lost her file.....it happens !
