People I am extremely happy and excited today. I had just checked my ECAS status...After a long agonizing wait my journey will finally come to an end in few days.
After reading the below mentioned ECAS status update i still have a real big smile of my face and feeling so relieved.

We sent you a notice on August 2, 2013 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on August 20, 2013 at 09:30 am. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

I wish everyone all the very best. I would also like to discuss few things which could be useful to other applicants.
1. The time i sent my citizenship application, I attached a copy of my health card which was ONLY A MONTH OLD.
2. I had traveled 4 times in the past 5 years accumulated 21 weeks of vacation in total.
;D ;D ;D ;D
Congratulations OKK. Live the moment. You deserve to be a Canadian and glad you're not caught up in the RQ Mess. Happy for you

OKK,

Looks like you did not get an RQ. Congrats ! Any insights on why you did not get an RQ ? Mind if I asked a few questions? YES/NO responses is fine. Great if you want to add a bit more to Qstns 1-5.

(1) Are you from a visa waiver country / other developed country ?

(2) Do you have a full-time Canadian job and DID NOT declare yourself as consultant or self-employed ?

(3) Did you study in Canada ?

(4) Did you live some years in Canada as student / temp worker before applying for PR etc etc

(5) Any other comments on why you think you may not have got RQ ?

Thanks a bunch for your responses buddy ! and Enjoy your Oath ceremony..... ;)

No RQ for me very straight forward process...asnwers to ur questions.
1. No
2. I work full time for City of Toronto but I did had my business initially when i arrived in Canada. I was a small business owner for years which was declared in my application.
3. Nops never studied in Canada however I had to attend a training college for my current job.
4. Nops i landed in Canada as a permanent resident.
5. I haven't done anything different than any other applicant however i never visited USA which as per my personal observation anyone been to USA for a day trip/visit/worked or even just a visa which was never even been used to gain any sort of entry will for sure trigger a RQ. No one has to agree with me on this one but majority of RQ victims had some sort of travel history to USA. Majority of RQ victims has this in common.

Thanks for your wishes :)

OKK I absolutely agree with you.

Your observation is correct. Its all those people who abused the system in the past and now everyone else is paying the price.

Mind you on the day i had my test several people got RQ. The 3 cases i heard myself as i was sitting in the front row was USA related

1. This family been to USA for day trips shopping but couple of their stamps were missing. The whole family got a RQ.
2. This person who immigrated from USA. He was a student in USA and got Canadian PR got a RQ.
3. This girl who visit USA on a regular basis as her boy friend is there got a RQ.

So yes the 3 cases i heard and witnessed while I was there had common grounds which is USA travel history.

It's not the people who abused the system is the source of the problem, people are the same everywhere and certain Canadian govt agencies should be able to control situation without penalizing everybody anyway.

Everybody else can, but Canada can't for some reason.

In the US, which is tougher on security overall, has islands and non-mainland territories and is also bordering Mexico, the whole naturalization process with all residence, security & special agencies checks takes 5 months.

I was just addressing your point blaming fraudsters, which is not the right thing to blame here, I think.

Fraudsters is a phenomenon which exists since society began.

What stands out in the whole picture though is unpreparedness of agencies and lame, almost child-like handling of situation.

Canada's naturalization timelines possibly worst in the world now.

I am not blaming no one here you are just reading what you want to read...my point is pretty basic and very affirm any travel history to USA will result into a RQ. Now what are the reason behind it not my problem but this is how it is as simple as that
