My apologies if this is addressed somewhere else but I am just looking for advice on what fees specifically to pay and has anyone had experience crossing back and forth from the US while their application was being processed? Clearly I pay the sponsorship application fee(me) and I believe principal application fee(my wife) and there was also a permanent residency right fee. Do I pay that now or later. I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is a US citizen (formerly PR of Canada but residency requirements have caused this to lapse). If there is a forum that I can join could you please direct me to it? Thanks.

Has your wife actually formally renounced her PR status or had it revoked by the government of Canada?

If she hasn't, then she is still a PR even if she doesn't meet the residency requirement and therefore cannot actually be sponsored.

The last time she came across the border she told them she was coming back to Canada to live and she was married to me and they filled out a form to revoke her PR because she didn't meet residency requirement. She has to meet with an immigration officer who will decide whether to revoke it or not. We intended on applying for new PR but can't actually talk to anyone in Immigration for advice. So what do you suggest as the course of action in this case? I'm stumped.

All you can do is wait and see if they actually revoke her PR or if they decide to let her keep it because she is married to a Canadian with intentions of now living in Canada.

I would just wait and see what they say/do about it.

She is still a PR of Canada, even if she is under investigation, until they formally revoke it, so there is no point in you filling out the paperwork until something is finalized.
