First off I'd have to say OMG  the volumes of useful info found among the catacombs of these halls. Awesome...!
Now to business. I have been married for 10+ years to a wonderful Canadian woman with whom we have 2 great daughters.
Tho I work and "live" in US I cross into Canada every weekend to visit them I figure it's time to move nord and tho I am gainfully employed and do in fact support my family in Canada I would like to eliminate the weekly crossing and just move north, living and working there as a PR.
I am "retired" USPS and my US social security is maxed so my retirement isn't in question.
Any responses with a specific procedural "routine" would be greatly appreciated. I can follow instruction clearly and have a nack for these "legalese" matters
Respectfully,
Ak

Yes I did read said post and tho very informative I found this a more direct post:

Your wife, the sponsor download and complete these forms:

* Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union [IMM 5409] PDF, 97 KB
* Sponsor Questionnaire [IMM 5540] PDF, 160 KB
* Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] PDF, 55 KB
* Document Checklist [IMM 5491] PDF, 99 KB

You have two options to obtain a fees receipt:
1. Payment of fees on the Internet
If you have Adobe® Acrobat Reader software, a printer, and a Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card, you can pay your fees online.
2. Payment of fees at a financial institution in Canada
If you cannot or do not wish to pay online, you must obtain an original receipt form IMM 5401 in order to pay at a financial institution. Because of this form's special features, it cannot be downloaded and printed from the website. You may, however, order it and it will be mailed to you.

and yourself (the applicant):

When it comes to which forms to complete, I would rely on the information on the CIC site rather than an old post here. The forms do sometimes change and the process is different depending on whether you are applying inland or outland.

Inland:

Outland:

TY VM!
As direct as I'd hoped for and saved me tons of reading this vast forum!
Since you've got kids together, it ought to be obvious your relationship is genuine. You're unlikely to have any problems.

On the off chance this was questioned by CIC on the basis that you haven't been living together, and that your originally genuine relationship might have ended previously, the main evidence to answer that concern might be proof of regular travel to Canada. This could be your travel history from the CBSA.

Agreed and I found the resource that validates my weekly visits for the past 2 years since this arrangement was made possible.
TY2 for your sounding!
