My husband, an American citizen, and I, applied for his PR in January 2014. We're getting to be a couple months away from (hopefully) getting our COPR and we wanted to change his address to my address just in case he's here when the COPR is issued. I thought we could just go on ECAS to change it online but it seems like that isn't the case. When I click on the link it says I need to send a notice to CPP-Ottawa but that's only if he's moving within the next 3 weeks? I'm just really confused! If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it!

I have the same question...but a different situation...I'm American and my husband is Canadian. We applied in March, and I'm planning on visiting him in late august and stay for the rest of the process which should be close to over by then..did anyone ever answer your question?...

We were thinking that my relatives back home to send me any papers that would arrive from CIC...but we've had bad luck with letters being mailed to us in the past...

No, I never got an answer.. But I sent an email to CPP-Ottawa saying we wanted to update his address to my address. I'll let you know if we get a response or see an update in ECAS!

I thought so too. Many have done it this way in the past. I wonder if they have changed things recently.

Here's an update.. Just now I got an email from Ottawa that said the following:

"Dear Sir / Madam,

The new mailing address for xxxxx has been enter in your file.

Regards,
Unité de service au client | Client Service Unit – NM20141
Centre de Traitement - Ottawa | Case Processing - Ottawa"

So I guess e-mailing them is the way to go!
But, ECAS still shows the old address. Only time will tell where the COPR will get sent lol

Zarilenth, please remove your spouses actual name from your post as it could pose you a problem for anyone trolling the fourms! :D

Ahahah oops omg! :o

Nice. And as Alurra mentioned, it is recommended to remove any personal information from the forums (i.e. real name).

Lol, yeah usually I am pretty careful with that kind of stuff. I am at work and just blindly copy-pasted, lol. Good thing it's a fairly common name!

And ECAS just updated the mailing address today, so I guess mailing Ottawa is the way to go! A week and a bit to update. Not bad.
