American apps at a stand still?

I know a lot of American applicants are stuck in Mississauga, but I've also noticed that even the ones that have been transferred seem to be at a stand still. Does anyone have any idea why?!

It's not just American apps, we're Irish and ours is at what you could call a "stand still" - but it's really just part of the process, it doesn't mean nothing is happening. Ours has been at the VO for 4 months and we haven't heard anything...totally normal and expected.

Ours is Mississauga. GIC says in progress, ECAS still says received. Nothings happening with it.

Yes, it seems to be that many visa offices are in a similar stand-still situation right now...

I don't really pay attention to much that doesn't involve American apps. Weird that it is happening at several VO. Perhaps people are taking summer holidays

I know...my point is that it's not JUST American apps. Additionally, Ireland is a country that is generally processed quickly as it is not high risk, etc blah blah blah. My husband has lived in Canada for a decade so it's annoying to even have to wait, I totally get it.

What I really think happened is under the old process, US apps got processed pretty quickly. With the new process streamlining inland and outland and condensing the timelines in general, I think it might have affected some of those timelines that were generally much faster. I think it evened it out across the board - which might account for why some outland apps that typically were processed very fast may seem a bit slower now.

I know someone who applied after us, Cuban, Havana, landed within 3 months. There is literally no patterns to connect at all it seems.

Yep I noticed that as well...someone from Saudi Arabia in April at the same VO as us already done.

i think you need to wait for your notes to see what is happening in your application. you and your wife are far too concerned.. you gotta be patient and trust that everything is fine. just because you are not hearing from them doesnt mean that nothing is happening... this is a very daunting process and no two applications are the same REGARDLESS of the country it is being processed in. just because someones was processed in three months and yours it still open doesnt mean that anything is wrong... learn to be patient and wait for your notes.... im sure you will get answers then.. no one here has answers as to WHY this is happening

Totally agree, and personally I am not concerned at all...I am still well within 12m stated timeline. Just observing

couldnt agree more!!!! we know this process will not take just 3 months.. and for those who got PR within 3 months, CONGRATS! coming into this we knew we were in for a long wait... this was something that we are prepared for.. its the canadian government after all!

And really even it takes 12 months, it's nothing for a lifetime together here in Canada, when you think of it.

My wife is with me in Canada so the that helps a lot. I couldn't imagine doing this while being apart
