Am I now covered - RAMQ

So I went to the CLSC today and they took my form and papers to send off and i was told it would be 2-4 weeks. The website states if you're from outside Canada it takes 3 months but I am covered during this time because I am pregnant.

I received a receipt from the CLSC that has my name and a reference number (my form contained a health insurance number but its not on the receipt) is this proof enough that I am on the waiting period or will I receive a letter from RAMQ?

Also which is right the teller at CLSC or RAMQ as one told me 2-4weeks and the other says 3months?

As long as you have the official paperwork from RAMQ, you are covered.

Your physical card will come in the mail in 2 - 4 weeks (that's how long it took for me). From the RAMQ website;

The Régie will process your application and, if you fulfill the eligibility requirements, will send you a letter indicating when your coverage under the Health Insurance Plan takes effect. You will receive your Health Insurance Card within 2 weeks after that date.
