Hi everyone,

Can you please help me guys....I am re-applyng to go back in Canada. My employer applied for LMO-Supervisor but we are still waiting for the result this coming March. But I have some doubts. Because, my Work Permit before in Canada is from Calgary, Alberta but my employer transfer me in British Columbia store. So, all my tax and pay slip are from BC. Is this going to be a problem for my future application? Am I illegal? Please help me guys on this query. Thank you...

You are not illegal right now of course. :D

But if your initial work permit specified an employer and location and you did not adhere to that specification, then yes, you were working illegally.

Whether CIC uses this against you, is up to the IO reviewing your application. Some IO's seem to be a lot stricter about rules than others. This what makes the whole CIC process so frustrating at times.

1. I bet that your work permit stated that you could only work for the employer at a specific location in Alberta. You worked in BC without permission. So it is quite likely that you will be barred from applying for another work permit for 6 months after the work ended.

Hi guys,

Thank you for all the reply..:)... Because some of the legal counsel told me that I am not illegal because it's the same employer and company. It means I can't go back anymore in Canada? It is so disappointing because we don't know that we are illegal because my employer asked a legal counsel and told him that we are not illegal. Am I block listed already i Canada. I am already here in Philippines and trying to apply again.

Sad, but we do have to take care of our status in Canada. You should have checked the conditions stated on your Work Permit but all those are water under the bridge.

How long ago did you stop working and went home? Wait out your LMO (you're expecting your LMO this March, are you not? Then try applying. Hope springs eternal. You may get approval or refusal (because you worked at the wrong place), whichever way it goes. It is a 50-50 chance though the odds are against you, but you'll never know whether the officer who'll process your documents will look kindly on your application. Anyway, there's hope as PMM has stated in his post that you'll be barred from applying for a new WP for 6 months. If you can wait a few months after you received your LMO then do so.

Thank you guys for helping me to figure this out. I just came back here in Philippines last December 27, 2010. And I am waiting for my LMO application this coming March. I was supposed to apply also for BC-PNP but the problem is they can see on my files that my WP is Calgary, Alberta. BC government might refuse my application. So, we just applied for LMO-Supervisor. Some people just told me to be honest and make a letter explaining everything why I worked in BC instead of Alberta.

hi...i know someone who is previously working in Sylvan Lake, Alberta but he resigned. He is at working permit status. At present, he is working illegally in one of the establishments in Edmonton because his previous employer hold his working permit. Is he considered illegal alien? Is there such office or telephone number where illegal alien will be reported? Thank you so much

Thanks to your reply...I don't mean to be a snitch. This person needs to learn his lessons. He uses a lot of people.
