Am I eligible for CERB if I am an active Ontario Works (OW) client?

I was working as an Uber driver but I stopped working 15 days ago and stayed at home to protect my family. then i applied for Ontario Works (Welfare) to survive but the amount they give will not cover my rent.
Can I still apply for Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)? if not, should I stop the OW program and apply for CERB? does it work like that?

I know you can't get EI and CERB at the same time and I would imagine you receive welfare simultaneously either. I would just apply for CERB if you are confident you will get it. I am not sure what happens if you apply for both, but I'd imagine the CERB would be canceled if they say you already applied for welfare. I dunno if any of that helps

Agree that I don’t think you can apply for Welfare and CERB as well. In general things like welfare or EI are less than your normal salary so people want to return to work as soon as possible. You will have to look what is feasible given your budget and savings.

No, you can't receive both benefits. As well it appears the individual is involved in ridesharing. Individual doesn't qualify for EI, they haven't paid into it
If the individual applies, and paid out, and later found was not eligible, the Government will collect the overpayment back
I'm not to sure how OW works. Keep in mind that CERB has that minimum income requirements, and it's not open ended , it's a limited time frame benefit

You can also apply for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit if you are eligible for Employment Insurance regular or sickness benefits.
Provided it is allowed in your province or territory, you may also receive provincial or territorial support payments at the same time you receive the Canada Emergency Response Benefit.

OW is not Employment Insurance.

OW isn't covered in what you have quoted.

You will have to check with Ontario works. It says may.
