I am over 65 years old and I got married a Canadian guy who lived here in Canada over 40 years.

I have applied my immigration under sponsorship and I got approved in May 2013.

I am a new immigrants here, but just wonder I am now eligible for any of old age pension as my husband is Canadian who is receiving all pension.

Plz help.

sorry my english is not good.

You are not eligible for CPP (Canada Pension Plan) unless you worked in Canada and made contributions. You will become eligible for OAS (Old Age Security program) after living in Canada for 10 years.

There may be other benefits you qualify for, possibly under a provincial program. Go here: http://www.seniors.gc.ca/eng/sb/ie/index.shtml and locate your province.

Aside from that, you should check if you are eligible for benefits or pension from your home country where you spent your working life and paid taxes.

I think to qualify for Pension you should be working for about 10 years in Canada

What country are you from? Is that where you've spent most of your life?

Some countries have social security agreements with Canada (or Quebec) which allow time in the other country to be counted as time in Canada. This is the case for OAS sometimes.
