Well, it's gonna be almost impossible I think. I've checked the criterias in Quebec.
1.They ask valid photo ID.
Canadian drivers licence - don't have
Canadian health ins card - don't have
Canadian or foreign passport - canadian don't have (I have one, but expired in 1992) , foreign I have it shows I was born in Canada, maybe it is enough, I don't know...
Citizenship card - don't have

2. Proof of home address
don't have any in Canada

No, it is not impossible. You do not have to live in Canada or have Canadian ID to get a copy of your birth certificate. If you have questions, write to:

I assure you, you are a Canadian.

You will need documentation, but your father is a Canadian under 2015 changes to the law. In paricular, section 3(1)(k) of the Citizenship Act:

"The person, before January 1, 1947, was born or naturalized in Canada but ceased to be a British subject, and did not become a citizen on that day;"

As "Generation Zero" you are eligible for Canadian Citizenship under section 3(1)(q) of the Citizenship Act:

"The person was born outside Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador before January 1, 1947 to a parent who became a citizen on that day under the Canadian Citizenship Act, S.C. 1946, c. 15, and the person did not become a citizen on that day;"

I *cough* can't tell you WHY I know that on this thread *cough* *cough*, but I assure you that I'm right. If you file a $75 Proof of Citizenship application on the IRCC website, you will get your citizenship certificate in the mail. You just need your father's birth certificate + your own documentation and two photographs.

Hello, could anyone answer a question I have about my citizenship? My father was born in Ontario, Canada in 1931. He came with his mother and adopted father to Detroit, U.S.A. as a child. I don't know if he officially became a American citizen. He married my American Mother. I know he never renounced his Canadian citizenship. I was born in the U.S. in 1961. Am I, and are my children, (born 1998 and 2000) Canadian citizens?? I cannot talk to anyone that knows 100% for sure if I am or my children could be.
My reply above was to this question, not the 6-generations born-abroad back question. The answer to that one is "no"; under section 3(7) of the Citizenship Act
