Hi Nikky: Great, we need more nurses in Canada. Check out this website and go to the Foreign Skilled Workers http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/ You will find all the information you require to fill out the application. You must have a minimum of ONE FULL YEAR of employment as a nurse (or other occupation on the in demand list as well as reaching at least 67 points). They are not accepting any more FSW applications at present, but we expect the door to open again on 1 July 2012. There may be changes to the occupations list, but it is likely that nurses will be included. You will have to complete an English exam called IELTS (you can google that and find the dates/locations nearest you - also study information and it is adviseable to use it before doing the exam.) IELTS results are good for two years, but sometimes there is a waiting list to write them. It would be good to get your IELTS done as soon as you are prepared....BEFORE 1 July. In the past there have been limits on the number of applications for the selected occupations and nurses have filled up quite quickly.
Go through the application guide, fill out your documents, collect your required education and employment papers, and be ready to submit as soon as the new list is announced. If you have any questions, it would be best to post them on the FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER Forum, not the Temp Foreign Workers. Good Luck.

PS...the IELTS has to be General. Even if you have taken the Academic IELTS in the past two years, you still have to do the General one for immigration purposes.
