Hello,
i have a simple question:
Am a canadian PR and gave birth to my son in Canada and he got the Citizenship last year.
I travelled outside Canada to accompany my husband as he wants to finish his job contract at our home country and now i cannot meet the residency obligations.
Is it possible that i can have the exception that am accompanying a Canadian citizen, which is my child?
If yes, would that be applicable only for maintaining the residency requirement, or it is also valid for counting the citizenship requirements?
I appreciate your answers.

No, it is only accompanying a Canadian citizen spouse abroad or a minor child accompanying a Canadian citizen parent that preserves PR status. Citizenship requires physical residency in Canada.

Thanks for your quick answer.
What if i mainained my residency in Canada to count for citizenship and my spouse didn't?? can i apply for him for a family immigration? would that take long?

If you meet the residency requirements to keep your PR and your husband doesn't, you can sponsor him to get PR again but you must be living in Canada to do that. The processing time is usually at least 3-4 months and up to a year or more depending on which country. You can see the timelines at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp
