Hey,

I came to Canada a month ago. Attended first few days of university, later in a week I was rescinded on my offer due not have met their requirements. I am already looking forward to get myself enrolled in the term or winter (January 2016). Till then how can I legally stay within the country for another 4 months? What could I possibly do that makes me secure to stay within the country? My study permit is good until July 2019, but is register with a DLI that i am not attending anymore. Please comment if someone else has been to this situation and something could help me get thru. Thank You

Your study permit is going to be automatically canceled once you have stopped attending school for more than 90 days. If you want to stay in Canada, you'll need to apply to change your status to visitor and then apply for a new work permit for the January semester. Obviously you can no longer work. So if you are working - you'll need to stop.

Can I attend some other Institution within this 90days period to keep the permit good?

Yes - as long as you remain a full time student. You will have to notify CIC that you have changed institutions.

Get enrolled for winter term and inform CIC ASAP, dont be lazy or you might get deported

Already working on it. Applied at 5 another institutions, they take 3-5 weeks normally to respond to a application.

Can I get US Visa from Canada? Though I have a valid reason to it.

You can certainly try. No guarantee of approval.

I have got an offer to be enrolled in the Winter Term. Which is the best possible way to notify CIC? Do I have to opt for Change in status for study permit, or should I Transfer DLI from Mycic account?
