Already got my work permit, but have new passport

Hello friends of canada,

I applied for the IEC program and got my work permit, but the passport I used expires in octobre. I already got a new Passport, but it was to late to update it on the government website before my work permit got approved. Now I am unsure if everything is allright and if I can get my work permit for the duration of the new passport when I get to the airport office. When I wrote the help center, they only sayed that I have to get an new ETA, wich I did. But is that really enough?

Yes, for now an ETA is all what you need. Take with you all your documents and ask the immigration official if he can issue a new work permit for the entire length of your contract with the new passport. If not, you'll need to apply for a work permit extension before the current one expires. Most likely the agent at the airport is going to help you.
