Hi all

Am almost ready to submit my application for Spouse sponsorship.

I have a couple of questions, have found various conflicting answers on here most of which were from 2008. Was hoping for something more current.

1/. Do I have my medical now and send the results with the application or do I wait for immigration services to request a medical? There is a form I need to take to the docs too but I can't seem
To find it? Any ideas?

2/. Online payment fees for 'spouse & common law partner in Canada class' presents me with two options: 'principal applicant including $75 sponsorship' - $550

or

'spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner' - also $550

Or (please god no....) both?

My wife is applying to sponsor me and I will be applying for permanent residence.

Thanks for any pointers and apologies for the dumb 2nd question.

Good luck with your application!!!

1) doing Medical upfront has advantage. because if they request for medical, that can add delays to your applicantion. It would take only 1 day at CIC empaneled physcian.

2) the two options are "spouse & common law partner in Canada class" if you are applying INLAND in canada and the other is for OUTLAND application. Please check with others, i am not 100% sure

Are you applying INLAND or OUTLAND? are you already here in Canada?
For an outland application it is the norm and usually recommended to submit the medical at the same time as the application. For outland you will get what is known as an UPFRONT medical.

Principal applicant including $75 for total of 550
Plus if you choose to and its recommended however I did not incude RPRF $490
for total payment of $1040.00

We need to know what country you are from and where you currently are.

Thanks for the responses! This forum is amazing.

I am from the UK, currently in Canada on a tourist visa. I will be applying Outland through the UK as I understand it will be much quicker? Is that the case?

Thanks again!

Hi again

Yes I will be staying in Canada during the process.

And now for my final (probably dumb) question!

How do ensure your application is processed as 'outland'?

To make an application 'Outland' through the UK, do I simply have to put 'London' in the box that asks 'which office are you applying through?' ?

I can't see anything else on tw application that would indicate an 'outland' application.

Also - do I still send it to the case processing place in Misissagua and they then forward it internally or am I supposed to send it to a London office for processing?

Thanks guys, no more silly questions from my corner...

Fill in the outland package. It includes forms that are required only for outland apps specific to the visa office. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

Yes put London in the requested processing office.

And Yes it all goes to CPC-Mississauga first. They are the ones that forward it to London after sponsor approval.
