Hi Guys. Finally I received the medicals requested 2 days ago. I am turning 40 next month I am having doubts about starting all over again. What is the average age of a new immigrant in Canada? Will I struggle because of my age? Give me some light.

Thanks.

Age doesnt matter much on the workforce in canada. You can even change career at your age and still be successful there. I've read many success stories of immigrant in canada even at ages 50+ despite the fact that they even had shifted careers. Just be prepared to take on odd jobs to fill in the first few months in case you dont get to find your line of work job there. The first 3-6 months will be the hardest and usually its the job that makes you settle and the rest will follow.

Its a matter of hard work and perseverance and most especially faith in God!

God Bless and Good Luck!

I have to agree with the post above. Age does not matter. What matters the most is the willing to work and pursue a place under sun. We are talking about Canada here. You come and prove what you can do. It is not what the country has to offer to you, but what you have to offer to the country.

Cheers.

I am 38 (turn 39 in January) so I am not much younger than you. I managed to get a job with the first interview I had. Really I don't think age is a problem here. If anything it can be a benefit because you carry a lot of experience.

Best of luck,
Wayne.
