HELLO EVERYONE...
We sent our inland application together with the application of open work permit on May 24, 2011. CPC vegrellile recieved it on May 27th. Until now we haven't heard anything from them. My concern is my work permit will expire on October 18 2011. Should I apply for another permit? But the problem is my employer would not renew my contract because I am 7 seven months pregnant. Its understandable anyway because when I give birth I cannot work right away.

Thank you,
nilyam

you get some news around 9 or 10 mos upon ....just apply for implied status and the EI for maternity leave....in that case you will be recieving checks while taking care of your baby....apply ei before your work permit expires...gud luck to u ...

Thanks for the quick reply murphy. How can I apply for implied status? I am sorry because we don't have an agency or lawyer who is going to help us or advice us what is the best thing to do.

Yes you won't hear anything from them until February or March 2012. Call Service Canada and ask them about your situation if you can get maternity leave benefits and parental leave benefits while on implied status. You mentioned you sent your OWP too together with your PR application, so Murphy is correct you are under implied status. That means you can continue working until CIC makes a final decision on your PR application. Since you are pregnant and can't work you must call or go to a service canada office to ask if you are eligible to get maternity and parental benefits.
