I would be very interested to know what your views on 'entitlement' would be before July 23 and Aug 16 (based on your signature). Its very easy to cross the finish line and then sit back and comment on 'entitlement', but alas i don't have a time clock.
do yourself a favor and stop replying to his post , that would be a waste of time - and no matter how badly he wants to continue the argument I will just ignore LoL

Same applies to you as itsmyid. You don't have anything to actually say, so you're now trying to be funny. Since you think you're funny (you're not) how about you prove "the professor" wrong with your pen, and tell me why you're entitled to a citizenship grant in under 12 months.

Your whole argument is that people should just shut up and not complain (or be disgusted) if their processing time exceeds one year and you're very adamant about it. Not sure if you remember when the processing time was 2 or more years, if people thought the way you think, we would've stayed that way. But people complained and the government listened and corrected this by allowing officers to make the decisions which reduced times significantly. The government here is to serve people, not the other way around. Jeez, even the most difficult bureaucrats have more compassion than you.

Just ignore ... he would love to continue arguing with his nonsense, don’t give him that satisfaction lol

Yeah, the guy already received his citizenship and he's lingering around here with nothing better to do than kicking people while they're down. It's just a shame they didn't drag his application for years. He would've had a totally different mindset and not be so hoity-toity.

Lol, I was just about to say the same, there are people who come back to share experience to help others, and there are also people who have nothing better to do and getting citizenship seems to be the biggest achievement they ever made, coming here to lecture others makes them feel better about themselves , which is actually pretty pathetic

And who said they weren't being fair and open? If you apply for your notes, do they not give them to you? If they don't then you can claim not being transparent. Also about the part where you don't question or challenge the government doesn't make sense, what are you challenging or questioning? How long it takes? You're pretty clueless to be blunt. If they told you you're not eligible, and you were, that I could understand, but your application being in a huge backlog with many thousands of other people as well as them admitting they are behind because of a backlog is not questioning or challenging, it's actually just making things slower and not accomplishing anything. I'd claim the exact opposite of what you're saying, some people thing that coming to a Western country just means you can complain about everything you don't like, and that's not the case. I've been here for 13 years before finally becoming Canadian, while others only 4 or 5, do I care? No, they got their in a different manner and legally just like me. So stop with this entitlement.

Your post is full of ASS-umptions. And you're simply being a dork if you think this falls in the category of "complaining about everything" where it falls under complaining about something that "affects everything." I wouldn't bother replying to you, however, since, it's a public forum, I do want to encourage others to hold themselves to higher standards and not stay quiet if they don't see any progress on their application. YES, even if it's under 12 months mark.
1. How is it fair for someone's application to show "in transit" for 4 months after being received? What does it even mean in this day and age?
2. It's been 11 months since I've been in the process without a test invite. No other communication from them since. When I asked for my GCMS notes in June 2018, I got a copy that was last updated on 15th December 2017?
3. Every time I call, it's the same answer. Everything looks good, and you will hear from us soon. I'm 6 weeks away from hitting 12 months, and I'm supposed to believe someone is going to take care of it just in time, and everything will be fine.
4. I don't buy any background check BS which took 7-8 months I believe. For someone who's been here 19 years. Never had any run-ins with the law and filed/paid all his taxes. How hard is it to figure it out?
I love Canada, I've given up American citizenship and chose this country instead. I personally will not stay quiet till this department of government gets their act together.
I will be lawyering up immediately if I go over 12 months mark. After I get my citizenship I will continue to get myself heard. I encourage everyone else on this forum who has similar experiences to write to the immigration minister. To his credit, I've always gotten a reply back from his office.

I've been here since 2005, and I was about to be eligible before harper changed the rules, so I would have applied 2 years ago. So just because I applied and it took less than 11 months, doesn't mean I haven't been frustrated too. My point is people getting frustrated is understandable, but for them to be disgusted is just juvenile.

No, my point is that they shouldn't be "disgusted". It's frustrating sure, I've been waiting an extra two years because of those laws. So, your point is moot.

My post is not based on any assumptions. I'm not sure you know how to read what I wrote.

Well you got your citizenship in 11 months. what are you doing here if not to help others? don't kick someone when they are down. I was eligible before Harper changed his rules too and you don't know the OPs story. Don't say he is 'super entitled' without knowing his story.

His story doesn't matter, waiting 11 months almost 12 or even crossing the 12 month mark shouldn't make anyone disgusted and being disgusted and expecting it with certainty in under 12 months is not being down, so I'm not kicking anyone, I'm pointing out entitlement. Like I said, it's frustrating for sure, I was one of the people that checks ECAS everyday. I get it, we're all wanting it to finish as soon as possible. But to start making assumptions that CIC aren't doing their jobs, or being lazy, or not following due process are exactly that, assumptions. Unless they have proof of that, they should make these accusations. No one knows why some applications take more time. So for someone to be disgusted without any shred of evidence that they were treated unfairly because of something like race, sex, orientation, etc.. is quite uncalled for. Frustrating, I completely agree, but not disgusted. That's all my point was.

Apparently he’s got a problem with people feeling “disgusted” ... well guess what? This is a free country and people have the freedom of speech and expression - guess how many people were disgusted by Harper back in the old days, and how many are disgusted by Trudeau these days? That’s all protected by the laws of Canada - it’s funny that someone who just past the test not long ago is now self-appointed word police and has the urge of passing judgement on people for how they should feel - the irony is priceless

I think it's better to be a refugee here in this country.
Amen!

someone here even got arrested for assault charges ...
This is a compassionate society, we should show compassion

waiting 11 months almost 12 or even crossing the 12 month....
Lot of people are treating 12 months as some magic number, this what CIC says "Processing times are measured based on how long it took to process 80% of applications in the past." In other words, when CIC says processing time is 12 months, it not even an average! every 5th applicant takes much more than 12 months to acquire the citizenship, a point very few want to consider...

Just remember that due to the change in citizenship rules they are dealing with a much larger volume of applications. Please try to be patient and things should move forward soon.

Amen!

Nobody is thinking of it as any “magic” number, it is in IRCC’s own words “Although the estimated time may vary, rest assured that we are making the necessary efforts to process your application within established processing times.” If you bought a plane ticket that’s supposed to start boarding at 9:00 PM, you’d expect the chance of delay due to weather or mechanical issues or anything that may come up and the airline would keep you posted and you know exactly what would happen next - clearly it’s not the case here. When you look at your latest GCMS report and find it to be exactly the same as 4 months ago, you have to wonder what kind of “efforts” actually were made

Even with the massive backlog, a lot of people in GTA area are still getting everything done within 6-9 months, including people who moved to another country right after sending out applications, people who barely had any buffer days for their residency requirements, people with many periods of outside the country and/or out of jobs, and even people with pending criminal charges, while many law-abiding PRs with plenty of days above the 1095 limit, no any issue with laws and taxes, much fewer trips outside Canada... are waiting beyond 11-12 months with nothing more than “we started processing your application on Dec 2017” - something is clearly not right. Take all the time you need, but at least you can let people know WHY - that could be part of the “efforts” IRCC claimed but we never see
