I am an October applicant, my application was received by Nova Scotia on the 6th of October. I also have a certain lawyer representing me in Canada. i submitted all request documents at the time of application except for detailed letter of reference from my employer. My employer will not issue a letter to the CIO , not even to support immigration purpose. This i gather is an extant policy of the organisation and they also do not want to keep losing staff.
.
I had to do a letter explaining why my employer will not issue such letter and i also attached the email from my employer stating this. I also attached my letter of appointment, payslips, my promotion letters and a regular letter introducing me to the embassy in Nigeria (Lagos) with my salary and my level. All other documents are in fantastic order and my lawyer keep telling me that my letter of explanation on the non availability of the detailed employers letter will be reviewed at the discretion of Nova Scotia. My question are
1. what are my chances as i have been worried ?
2. How do i know if Nova Scotia waive the reference letter from my employer
ola.salamis said:@ Theus17 I didn't make a self affidavit of my job description or ask any senior to sign for me. My Senior also mustnot know i am applying for immigration and more so she will not sign because of the policy of the organisation. But my pay slip shows my unit which conforms with the a particular NOC. The lawyer was so confident that in some cases the CIO do know that employers do not give such letters and they can use their discretion. I have been in the same organization for 10 years and i scored about 76 marks in my self assessment.
I can only wish for the best
Theus17 said:Your title won't merit your application. Cic is very particular with job description with the noc code you choose... That is their basis for you to be labelled as a skilled worker in fsw.... Your pays lips and your contracts are only supporting documents but not mandatory...
I wish things will turn out good for you... Let's pray for all our applications to be positive in all ways..
Goodluck
ola.salamis said:@ Theus17. Can you please inbox me your number so that i can call for further clarification. I also understand a senior colleague can write the letter on my behalf, if so does it have to be on company's letter head or can it be on a plain paper cos only authorised signatories can sign external letters. You can be a top level official of the organisation and not be a signatory
Thanks
