Eligibility and background check are the final stages... They asked for my police clearance certificate in Jan 2020 and no uodate after that
I think eligibility is the last step because when i had my local mp to an enquiry they said background is done and everything else just waiting for eligibility and its been 4 months since i got that answer..

When my file was transferred to LVO they emailed me and in that email they wrote that 1st the file will go to case analysist then for eligibility then admissibility (that's background check)

I think the announcement will help for those who already have the permit to enter Canada or got Decision Made at their application. But I still pray that this announcement may bring the good news for all of us.

For anyone wondering....

Our application was sent to LVO on March 2, 2020. We didn't receive any notification after that.
However, at the end of March I had realized that I had made a mistake and sent a webform. They replied in May saying, they had placed a copy of my email and webform in my file and that I did not need to send new form. They also mentioned that my file was there and waiting to be processed and that due to Covid19 they were slower.

So that confirmed to me that my file was there. I applied for GCMS notes on April 5 and recieved on May 8. It also showed that a email was placed in my file. Nothing else had happened

Today I sent email to london email address, inquiring about their processing times and tolday I recieved following email:
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, please note that Canadian missions in the United Kingdom are providing essential services only.

Your application is currently in transit and given the above restrictions, we are unable to confirm receipt of your application in London at the present time.

From what I understand, this is the generic reply to everyone who hasn't started processing yet. Obviously makes no sense since my application was recieved and they told me they placed my email and update into file for officer. So take anything said with a grain of salt.

I asked IRCC on Twitter what "essential services" are. They answered with a link that was still quite vague. I do not understand how OUTLAND applications are not ESSENTIAL. We are literally without our spouses for who knows how long. If I want to go visit my husband in Qatar, I would have to quarantine in a hotel alone for two weeks. I would also have to risk my health to go on a plane right now. I think this is pretty essential.

For reference, my husband's application was forwarded to London in February. We have heard nothing since.

Wishing and praying for all of us in this difficult time! I have been trying to focus on work and am watching a lot of funny shows and movies lately. It helps! :)
