I never had to provide consent letter. Just include all Sponsor and Applicant personal details:
App#
UCI
Addresses of each
Birthdates of each
I just did one for my husband, that's how I know the process. I guess it could differ from office to office. However, standard is that they require applicant to sign the consent in order to release specific details to the sponsor.

Some new comers in PMs office insist 1 year mark and a consent letter while experienced MPs dont care they just help. Another thing past few years ago I contacted an MP who was NOT from my area. That meant any MP can help you but I hear opposite here even thou I had real happening going to out of area MP and was helped v quickly

I actually tried that too when I was new to the process. Out of area MP was willing to help but they wanted me to try my MP first. Also I agree with the hit or miss related to consent cz first I had to contact them, they didn't ask for one but I started the process through phone. Either way I found them willing to help.

Status changed to in process today in Ecas.
Dec 30 2019 AOR
Moved to NDVO 10th Feb 2020
Good news they started working ! but so sad to know that they took almost 11 months just to start looking at file; this is the thing makes us worry-full, sad . Can we blame it on the Covid-19 or ? ..I hope they open ours sooner than 11 months as suggested by @VeerRaj Even if they open it by LATE JAN I'll be so happy. My timeline is below in Signatures

So if I am not wrong it will o back to "App Received" Then few weeks later it may show "In Process" ?
Our App has gone thru this twice already, once at SYDNEY , then same at Ottawa OR simply this present "In Process" will continue even if NDVO is looking at it?
