Hi,
I am sorry but i dont understand your question. You are a permanent resident in canada yes? And you got married after you became a permanent resident? Now, you are now staying outside of Canada? how long? Are you trying to sponsor your wife to come to canada?

I just landed in Canada for a short period, I reside currently in the Gulf and got married. Now, I need to sponsor my wife but all the people are saying that I have to be in Canada to sponsor her. What is the solution to this case?

That's correct. As a PR you have to reside in Canada permanently in order to be eligible to sponsor your wife. If you are out of canada your application will be rejected.

Hi apuniano...from what i have noticed the only time you will get an adr is if the immigration has issues which can be addressed by the sponsor only. Or if its a technical issue with the application or any of the proofs which you have provided. If they have any red flags regarding or questions regarding whether the relationship is genuine then generally it is a full hearing. Any time they feel they need to talk to the applicant (the person being sponsored) then it will be a full hearing. During an adr they only talk to the sponsor..during full hearing they will want to talk to both of you.

As an ADR winner I think what you said is kind of true. Remember ADR was introduced to reduce their cost of full hearing appeals for cases that are relatively easy to allow (hence skip the full hearing). Once again it will depend on the officer who reviews your file but even with some red flags (few photos, age difference, messed up interview) you can still get an ADR and save time. But just becoz you got ADR doesn't mean it's gonna be any easier than full hearing so either case you need a strong mindset to survive through the process...

Could someone here help me with the contact number of Toronto IAD office please, the one I have (866-790-0581) seems not to be reachable. Tnx

I am trying to keep busy and prepare my case in the best way. I wonder where did you apply? Toronto or Vancouver. Did you request ADR after you sent your evidences to IAD? How long did you get response granting ADR after requesting ADR?

In Calgary the waiting time is very long. I do not know if I can get an ADR. I will prepare my evidences and request ADR. I hope I can get one.

Thank you very much

Hey Emaan3...... how are you doing. i hope that you are in the best of health at this moment in time. You got the letter of notice of appeal. They will send you the blue book 120 days give or take. The blue book is your file that the visa office have on you and your spouse during the sponsorship process. Once you get the blue book then you can request an ADR hearing... If you dont get the adr hearing then you will get a full hearing but the main thing is that try and gather up alot of evidence to help prove genuine.

I had my interview back in August 2015, but after the decision made letter, appeal allowed, I haven't heard anything. No medical request, no police clearance, not even visa request. My file still on hold. I even emailed them, and they answered to my message that they will send a letter before January 15, 2016. Still no letter, nothing. We are being very patient. ...officer's are not being fair enough.

Hi Emaan3, I'm also in the same boat as you, my 120 days completed jan18.... I really don't know if this was normal for those that have gone through this stage of the appeal process, but it was emphatically stated that an appeallant will get the blue book within 120 days on their site and on the acknowledgement letter..... Is your appeal in Toronto like mine?
