Spousal application refused on 26th november at new delhi chc

Our application for spousal sponsorship was refused after the interview at new delhi chc on 26th Nov 2013. We were told that a letter will be sent to us, regards the refusal. How do i appeal. I have not yet received any letter from chc, and time is running out, as i have to appeal within 30 days of refusal. Please advise. Has others who have faced similiar refusal found any good lawyers who could assure a good appeal and sucess.

you have 30 days after receiving the letter ... but i am very sure you will get prior of that time so, get ready with appeal form .. send it to IRB once you refusal letter. wait till that time ...

I received mine in 3 weeks after refusal ... stay strong ..

Sorry to hear about ur refusal.. On what basis did they refuse ur case?? Did the interviewer tell u guys whats the reason for denial?

hilsten is correct hang in there. I received the refusal letter about the same time line of 3 weeks post refusal as hilsten did.

Sorry to read this about your husband's interview not going very well. I am not sure if you can do your appeal in a different city for a shorter wait time. You would have to ask the IAD this. Vancouver does all of Western Canada only. Not sure if they will take on ppl from the east but worth a try in asking I suppose. Good Luck. You could also move here to live for the time being as I believe you need an address here to apply, and not a fraudulent address as they check and you will be in big trouble

My husband was not told that they are refusing it. She said she is not making a decision right now but she is not fully convinced. She took his police certificate at the end. I pray that she will pass it INSHALLAH

Yes they kept my police clear certificate as wel as my Nikah nama whatever i took my all documents along with me .VO took from me n kept all .. VO was confused n was telling tht u submited lots of evidence thts y she said she is confused . But u dont worry keep praying Allah will b better .

what was the reason for your rejection? if u don't mind me asking? how did it take for them to send you rejection letter?

Hi Hina,

1- I am confused by reading your posts. You wrote earlier that VO told you during the interview that your case is not legit (not legal/valid). Now you are saying that VO also
told you that she/she was confused and did not tell you if he/she is refusing your case. Can you please be more clear?

2- In the refusal letter did they provide you reason of refusal. I know you mentioned that they said "marriage not genuine" - but did they also provide why they think the marriage is not genuine?
3- how often your husband visited during the time you were waiting for the interview?
4- did they ask you to do your medical before/after the interview or was it valid?

5- what is currently happening on your case?

My husband went for the interview yesterday but sounds like it did not go well. He answered everything correctly but officer said I am not completely satisfied. I don't know what to think. in the end she said leave your police certificate with me. she also said I will call your sponsor and then she can challenge me.


This was in Islamabad. please let me know if any one has similar situation. does this means it is rejected? if so what is the next step. I live in Toronto can I appeal in a different city to avoid long wait time in Toronto? please help

I said to call the Call Centre to find out if your case is refusal or contact CIC Islamabad. Also its strange that after the Visa Officer said she was not satisfied that she asked for the Police Certificate. So contact them at Call Centre or email them!!!

Islamabad never give out any information over the phone. I called cic here recording says unable to0 transfer your call.

I called a call center here they said we do not have any information ... just like what I told you earlier.
